I really like the show. Who knows stuff like that happens in people's homes. We hear stuff about husbands/wife cutting up each other's bodies and what not. This is just a bit of fiction in what can happen in abusive relationships! Violence is a bit too much for me too! But the story definitely has scope! :)

I thought that it was a bit sadistic to be watching a serial about domestic abuse and torture, but it's sooo interesting. The acting by both Karanvir Bohra and Sriti Jha is impeccable! It seems to have huge potential. Anyone who doesn't like the concept should just no watch the serial, simple.

Taking into consideration about the complaints you have with the show, this is my opinion in response.

1. who will watch torture and only torture for 20 minutes?

What does Life OK and Star Network think of us to give us such horrible things to watch?

Considering the heterogenous TV viewership Indian audiences have, not all viewers are interested in candyfloss romance on TV. They find shows with substance and a message a lot more interesting. Its a pity that such serials don't find TRPs (Maryaada and Pratigya are amazing exceptions) and get shut down in a short while just because the count of such viewers in India isn't huge.

2. Do you want your children exposed to such violence?
The time slot is pretty late (10pm) most of the kids are not supposed to stay awake till that time to watch TV and the older ones are atleast this much sensible to distinguish between glorified violence and detested torture.

3. After seeing this serial we watch the news and see someone tortured and left and wonder how it happens.
Its no rocket science, we are not supposed to wonder but muster up the minimum guts needed to venture out to the doors of the house and save the tortured person, the next time we hear painful screams like this in our neighbourhood

4. It is because of serials like this only glorifying torture and adoring weakness.
The protagonist Jahnvi is not a female version of Superman that she'll break Viraj's bones and flee off easily. Viraj has so many pluses to his side like residing in such a lonely place, having a bunch of watchmen at his command, any normal girl would seem 'Weak' before an army like this.

5. ITS A SICK SERIAL and even sriti's hard core fans are not watching it.

I say we show the star networks that we are intelligent and wont have such nonsense shoved down our throat.
Of course we are intelligent enough to like larger than life fairy tales like Geet and Pyaar Ki... and avoid shows like Saubhagyavati Bhava

Yeah, we are really intelligent enough to watch fairy tales than the reality based shows like 'Saubhagyavati Bhava', where one of the lead character swallows a cockroach, dipped in milk.

I have heard of a lot of love stories, but yet to hear about a husband having cockroach dipped in milk, so we all can guess which one is far from reality--what is shown in this serial, or what is shown in the love stories.

Another thing I would like to say--to see reality, watch the news channels, read the newspaper, than try to find it in daily soaps. Entertainment channel is not supposed to show us reality, but entertain us, and if watching how a husband tortures his wife is the latest form of entertainment for this generation, then I have nothing to say.

I would love the show to be a success, and more so because my favourite actress, Sriti Jha is there in it, but then, I just wish that they don't show so much torture, as it is highly disturbing for viewers like me, who would want to watch the show, but is staying away from it. 😭

Just going a bit off topic, I think Sriti's acting is tremendous in this serial. I saw a few glimpses of the show and her acting, and when she was crying, it didn't feel like she was acting--it felt like she was really that tortured woman in the serial. The expressions of fear and horror in her face were also perfect--what an actress Sriti is. Hat's off to her.
I just hope the character of Sriti escapes from that hell she is in because I can't see Sriti crying, even when she is acting. 😉

Dude the show is awesome.

There are actually so many psychos like Viraj who harass their wives, which in turn leads the poor girls into the hell of depression. The show is a big ugly reality which prevails not only in India but in many other parts of the world. So, the show is not CRAP!

And moreover people complain that Indian Television is full of non-sense and no reality, but when they show something substantial, people don't appreciate it.

The same old stereotype mindsets🥱

I agree, the graphics are a little disturbing. It got me near to puking when they showed that "roach-milkshake" thingy.😆🤢

But honestly, it is quite different and I'm guessing it'd be an awesome watch.

PS: Anybody watched "Rakht Sambandh" on Imagine? The show was tremedously awesome, and had Sriti in the lead role of a blind girl trapped by unscrupulous in-laws to marry their eunuch son. I'm watching this show because it reminds me a li'l of RS.
