8. Harshad Chopra

He can be called the romantic face of Tellywood. Right from his debut serial we have seen him playing the prince charming. First he won hearts by being Heer's Prem and then he played Anurag to Taani in Tere Liye. The best thing about Harshad is his ever glowing smile, which we are sure makes every girl take count of her heart beats. Currently, he is seen playing the lead in Imagine's Dharampatni. Though the character is not that positive but Harshad still remains to be a sweetheart.

Dharampatni touches a chord with housewives
The family saga fever that once upon a time, peaked on Indian television with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi just seems to grow stronger, with every soap opera and serial covering social issues. Moreover, the recent Anna Hazare movement against corruption has given an added boost to more innovative and meaningful social subjects for our drawing rooms. The latest to conquer hearts is Imagine TV's popular emotional saga Dharampatni' inspired from Mahatama Gandhi's life and times. The daily soap has found tremendous favour with family audiences, especially housewives. So much so that inspired by its success, the makers are now introducing fresh tracks and characters to further enhance its 'homely' appeal. Amongst the many actors who are being appreciated, is television's blue-eyed boy Pankit Thakker, who was earlier patronized as 'The Champ' by female audiences in the Star One daily soap Dill Mill Gayye. While television makers experiment with subjects, it's the viewer who has emerged the ultimate winner.

Must Watch Shows - Dharampatni

i

The Viewers will get to witness Mohan & Kastur's Sangeet Ceremony in the forth coming episode of Dharampatni that will be aired on 3rd October.

While Mohan's mother and the viewers are still trying to comprehend Mohan's sudden change of heart, he is determined about getting married to Kastur. Except for Mohan's mother, his entire family always desired this alliance, and hence they are not only happy with Mohan's decision but are also ensuring that they leave no stone un-turned as far as the wedding celebrations are concerned.

The Makers of the show have geared up for a Star-studded Sangeet Ceremony. We have come to know that known faces from the Television Industry like Mahi Vij, Jay Bhanushali and Karan Wahi will be performing in this episode.

There is also going to be a Dance Competition between Kastur and Mohan's family which will be judged by none other than Dharmesh Yelande and Vrushali Chavan of Dance India Dance fame. If sources are to be believed, then both Dharmesh and Vrushali will also be performing on the famous dance number "Chamak Challo" from the movie Ra-One.

However, amidst all the glitz and glamour, will the darker side of Mohan get revealed to both the families?

To know how the story unfolds & to enjoy the grand celebration of Mohan and Kastur's Sangeet Ceremony, do tune into Imagine TV on 3rd of October to watch a Dhamakedar episode of "Dharampatni"

Lots of hype, but where are the TRPs?

Diya Aur Baati
Many new shows have been launched in the past few months, but hardly any of them have clicked. Three new shows across different channels that were promoted in a very big way have failed to live up to audiences' expectations.

Diya Aur Baati, Dharam Patni and Chintu Chinky Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story seemed very promising, but the ratings tell a different story. So, what has gone wrong for these shows? Well, we think, Diya Aur Baati, a show with hardly any known faces, needs a total revamp, right from performances to screenplay. Currently the best thing about the show is the title track by Shubha Mudgal and Kailash Kher.

Dharam Patni, starring Harshad Chopra and Aasiya Qazi, was tom-tommed as the channel's biggest show, but the one question everyone's asking is : where are the TRPs (television rating points)? Rajesh Kumar and Divyanka Tripathi were lucky to bag Chintu Chinky... despite their previous show Mrs Aur Mr Allahabadwale not doing that well. A lot of hopes were pinned on the couple and this comic serial, which didn't start on a great note. But then again, anything can happen on TV; there's still hope.

A still from Dharampatni

Naach gaana, mehendi, sangeet, doli, baraat and band baaja, viewers will get to witness all this and more, as a part of the wedding revelry of Mohan and Kastur, starting October 3 on Imagine TV's " Dharampatni".

Like every girl, Kastur wishes that the biggest day of her life is as perfect as it can be. And to make it special, well known TV personalities will be performing at her sangeet and mehendi ceremonies and up the glamour quotient.

Mahi Vij and Jay Bhanushali, Karan Wahi and Mouni Roy and dance icons Dharmesh and Vrushali of "Dance India Dance" fame would grace the one hour special sangeet ceremony program and groove to some popular Bollywood songs. And that's not all. The ladkewallas and ladkiwallas will battle it out in a healthy dance competition and fashion show to decide who among them is the superior side.

Talking about the special episode of "Dharampatni", Saurabh Tewari, head of programming, fiction at Imagine TV, said, "The marriage between Mohan and Kastur is an integral part of this show. The concept of "Dharampatni" is based on the vital role of a woman in every man's life; hence this wedding is indicative of a turning point in both Mohan's and Kastur's lives. We have also touched upon the fact that, in India, it is never a marriage of two people, but the unison of two families."

Watch the flamboyant Mohan and the grounded Kastur take the plunge into matrimony on "Dharampatni", Monday-Thursday at 9.30pm.
