Your are partly wrong Indian audience in some part ok with and other part are not ok with.

Their two type hindu religious people,

first type people that actually read the puranas and interpret it that tend to more mature about LGBT topics.

While second type have religion passed on from family member to family member that where the problem is because some along the line the western bias meshed indian cultural.

Because there is no hatred of what you define as LGBT which i define as normal people the in the puranas it no biased against it

Hindus tend believe in the soul not the body, so soul mates can come in form.
