The picture is clear in this matter. Both parties had issues with each other. Unfortunately those couldn't be resolved amicably hence the fallout.

I feel mistakes and miscommunication happened from both sides.

Still, Sonarika has age and time by her side and DKDM has given her recognition all over. She has many more avenues to explore and I wish her best of luck.

TV actors generally have limited choice even if they are established top stars of top rated shows. We know Ekta Kapoor replaced Smriti Irani, Sakshi Tanwar, Nausheen Ali from top shows like KSBKBT, KGGK and Kusum.

Sonarika was still new in the industry. If seniors aren't spared then how can one expect her to get better treatment?

Anyway, I think she is free to take her decisions now. Otherwise being star of mytho shows they have restrictions on endorsements, public appearances, stage show performances, interviews and even their social life gets restricted since they have the Devi/Devta image. Her co-star Mohit Raina is also constantly scrutinised and restricted in similar ways. And so are other prominent actors in this show. All to protect their screen image!

Stars of mytho shows can't even use their popularity the way stars of usual shows do.

Sonarika is free now to explore other opportunities and would be free from restrictions she had earlier due to her image (of Parvati).

The exit could have been amicable and such unceremonious fallouts could have been avoided. But as they say, what has to happen, does happen.

I think people should stop blaming everyone now be it actors, PH, channel or anyone else. This only feeds negativity and accomplishes no fruitful result.

I do wish this hadn't happened. I also hope TV industry wasn't unfair and harsh on actors. I wish such instances cause industry to deliberate on issues about actors and shows. And there's some change in industry in near future.

As viewers it is hard to adjust to such changes. Still as long as writing is good and other actors do well, we'll watch the show (as it is among the cleaner and more family-friendly shows on TV).

All the best to Sonarika for her future.

Good luck to DKDM team also, because changes throw up new challenges too. I hope they do well.

Yes I'd have liked to see more stories related to Shiva-Parvati and legends associated with Adishakti, than having them as just parents of grown up children.

Such events invite lot of feedback and reactions rom viewers also. I hope the channel and creatives of the show are observing it all and take some positive lesson from all this to take show in better direction in future.

This is all because of Sona only.

PH was ready to hike but she asked more than budget.

PH is not so wealthy ...and she wanted to money as similar as Mohit...!!

She always compared herself with Mohit.

And she had only started this drama by putting down her paper 1st.

PH have not any direct problem with her but she is very angrious girl & even in TOI article, she herself told that ''HA MUJE BAHUT GUSSA AATA HAI TO KYA HUA MAIN EK RAJPUT HU''...!!!

And How can see ask over limit of money???

She is not interested to play Parvati 1st.

She was ready just because of money.

In her eyes only dreams of moneys & movies.

The show which gave her life...identity in this world & how can she ready to quit easily in April???

At this 20 age..she has many high chance for filmy career ... can't she stay for the show which is not more than 1 year now?????

I am totally with PH.

Read red lines...PH gave her chance...but without over hike [ not hike ] she was not ready to play Parvati.

We love her as parvati ...but she is not interested in her own character.

Don't over love to anyone ...always stand with truth.

I AM COMPLETELY WITH YOU BUDDY. SONARIKA FANS MAY HATE ME FOR SAYING THIS, BUT IT IS THIS GIRL WHO IS A BIG TIME LIAR. SHE SAYS MONEY IS THE ISSUE. FEW MONTHS BACK SHE GAVE AN INTERVIEW IN WHICH SHE MENTIONED THAT SHE IS NOT IN THE INDUSTRY TO MAKE MONEY.

OH CMON, ARE U THAT GREAT. PLAYING A GODESS ON SCREEN IS DIFFERENT, BEHAVING LIKE ONE IS DIFFICULT. INDEED THEN REPORTS IN MEDIA WERE TRUE ABOUT HER EGO AND CO-STAR RIFTS. NO PRODUCER IS A FOOL TO BE HELL BENT ON REPLACING THE MAIN CHARACTER. HE WILL SURELY TRY TO AVOID IT.
IN THE PAST TOO, SHE HAD MADE THE PRODUCTION HOUSE EXPELL A SPOT BOY AS HE CRACKED A JOKE ON HER.

I just have one question. Some people are saying that it was wrong of Sonarika to ask for a salary equal to that of Mohit's, which is higher. How is that wrong? 😕 In fact, why should the male lead receive higher pay than the female lead, when she is equally important? Yes, Sonarika compared herself to Mohit and found it unfair that though both of them are leads, she is receiving much less than him. Do people find it acceptable that women receive less than men, though both of them are putting in equal hard work? This happens in many shows! The male leads receive a significantly higher salary than female leads, but Sonarika is one of the first to speak out against it. I am proud of her, because this is totally unfair treatment of women, that too in the 21st century. 😔
If PH are able to pay Mohit so much, why are they suddenly not able to pay Sonarika equally? Why won't their budget let them give Sonarika equal pay? This is nothing but chauvinism at its core, and I'm glad Sonarika spoke out against it.

She has asked PH to increase her salary, she didn't say if they would not increase the salary, she will leave.
The notice is regarding only salary increase. She herself doesn't want to Quit.
In previous interview she says that she would not mind playing grand mother, in this show only.
She never wants to quit.😒

WOULD SHE HAVE SIGHNED THE CONTRACT BLINDLY AT THE FIRST PLACE? EACH CONTRACT HAS A CLAUSE OF ITS DURATION AND ABOUT THE PAYSCALE
ABSOLUTELY SHE HAS THE RIGHT TO DEMAND HIKE , BUT AT LEAST BE TRUTHFULL TO YOURSELF AND YOUR FANS . MONEY IS A VERY IMPORTANT FACTOR( OTHER THAN YOUR PASSION FOR WORK) AND THERE IS NO SHAME IN ACCEPTING IT, SO THERE IS NO NEED TO PROJECT YOURSELF VERY HIGHLY AND GIVE FALSE STATEMENTS LIKE " I AM NOT IN SHOWBIZ TO MAKE MONEY". PH WAS READY TO GIVE HER A REASONABLE HIKE, BUT ITS SAID THAT HER DEMAND WAS WAY TOO EXHORBANT. SHE UNDOUBTEDLY IS A GOOD ACTOR, BUT STILL NOT IN THE LEAGUE OF MOHIT( BOTH ACTING AND BEHAVIOR).

I had given notice three months ago: Sonarika Bhadoria
Sonarika Bhadoria

TV actress Sonarika Bhadoria, who played Parvati in mythological drama show " Devon ke Dev Mahadev", says she had put down her papers three months back, but stayed on when producers promised a salary hike.

However, she says when the makers failed to fulfil their promise, they sent her a termination mail, forcing her to bow out. But the producers have a different story to tell.

"Three months ago I had given a notice that I would be leaving the show as I was getting good offers. I didn't want to continue playing Parvati," Sonarika told IANS.

"But then I had a talk with the head of production. We narrowed down to one thing that is monetary matter. They were willing to give me a good amount of money, so I continued shooting," she added.

While she had been promised a hike, there were rumours that Nikhil Sinha, producer and series director, was planning to replace her with another actress.

"When I approached them (producers about the rumours), they asked me to chill. As far as I know, Pooja (Bose) was to play Sita, so I was very confident about it. Hence, I told the media that I am playing Parvati," said Sonarika, who played the character for more than a year.

One day she got a call from the head of production saying that the amount that was decided earlier is out of their budget.

"He told me that whatever amount was decided, I can't give that much as it's out of budget. I felt cheated because they told me at the last moment. I was asked to take a decision whether to continue with the show or not. I asked for some time," she said.

"On July 7 late night, I got a termination mail. I had to give my decision by morning. When I woke up, my staff called me and said there was a new girl on the set who had started shooting," she added.

The termination mail and replacement news came as a shock for the 20-year-old, but she got over it soon.

Now she has got a new hair cut and she is spending time with her family and friends.

"I feel happy as somewhere down the line I wanted to quit. It's not that I am devastated. I feel free. When I was acting as Parvati, I didn't get my hair cut for a year. The first thing I did after I got the news was visit a spa and then get a new hair cut. Now, I have fringes, which I really wanted," said Sonarika.

Post the incident, she is neither bitter, nor does she hold any grudge against the show producer or the channel.

She won't mind taking up TV assignments as long as they are interesting, but her focus right now is films. A dance reality show would also work as she loves dancing.

When contacted, Sinha said that Sonarika did put down her papers three months back.

But added that "her contract was initially for two years and there was no exit clause".

"Eventually she didn't want to continue for whatever reasons. Then she put down her papers. We had a chat with her and we agreed upon certain amount of money," Sinha told IANS.

As the amount demanded by Sonarika didn't go down well with the producer, both parties decided to call it quits.

"The discussion was done May end and since she was happy with the offer, she continued with the show. Her contract ended around June 12. She asked for a hike, which was unheard of. We had discussed money part and she was given a good raise but, the hike she asked for was unprecedented. So obviously we didn't have that kind of budget," Sinha said.

"We called her and told her we can't offer you this kind of money... We gave her a choice and later she called and said she can't work with this budget and called it quits," he added.

Obviously no actor would demand a pay increase from Day 1. Sonarika played the role of Parvati for 1 year, and since the show was doing well, she asked the PH for a hike. That is what people do normally in their careers also. If they want a higher salary, they ask after having worked for at least 6 months - 1 year. It doesn't mean Sonarika is money minded to think of her career. Everyone thinks of their career and how much money they're making. Just because she's playing Parvati doesn't mean she must ignore her salary. She is not the real Parvati. She is just an actress making a living in the world.
How do we know the PH was ready to give her a reasonable hike? If they are still paying Mohit more, they have no right to claim that their budget won't allow for more. They have the responsibility to pay both their leads the same amount from the start, and if Sonarika is demanding that, neither does it make her money minded, nor does it mean she has no respect for Parvati. She may have a lot of respect for Parvati, but she is still a woman who must make money for a living.

Guys we should just move on now and not debate. The show is over for Sona she has moved on as well. As fans we should just love and support her now beyond that let us not rack our brains.
