I was just going through some scriptures and I came to know that Lordess Durga is also known as "Shumbh-Nishumbh Mardini". Would someone please tell if it is true, because if it is then I can hardly wait for the sequence to happen in the show.Please enlighten me...

In Durga Saptashati's 3rd charitra, this story of killing Shumbh, Nishumbh along with Dhumralochana, Chand, Munda, Raktabeeja is given.

Different Shakti's of various Devatas too came to fight this war. Narsimhi, Aindri, Vaishnavi, Varahi, Brhmani etc faught this war agaiinst these Asuras. Kali killed Chand, Mund, that's why she is also known as Chamunda. She drank all the blood of Raktabeeja till he died. In the end they all merged in Durgama, who told Shimbh, they are all my Vibhutis. Then he was killed by Durgama.

They should show this story properly but it may take time because Tarakasur was introduced much earlier, then he took over Swarga. Shumbh, Nishumbh too wins Swarga throwing Devas out. This entire thing may take time.
