Has anybody kept an eye on wikipedia page for devon ke dev. Seems like a full fight going on there. one moment sonarki(or whatever the name) is there and another moment they remove it.

^Wikipedia is the most unreliable source because it can be edited by anyone. I think Sonarika is the final choice and I think we just need to wait for official confirmation from the PH :)

Mouni is Mouni...when you think her performance in previous shows they were o.K . But when she came in DKDMD she was like BANG ON!!! infact it was with this seriel only i have become her huge fan...& now she holds a very special place in my heart & the memories of her sati will never leave my mind . But that doesn't mean we should get stuck there we should give other Actress too chance... u never know she too will deliver beautiful performance afterall it's a director on how he molds the actress...but whatever she won't match up to mohit- mouni jodi...infact we will miss one of the best jodi's on the television screen & i will watch the show Coz of Mohit darling & too know Lord Shiva & Parvati mata story...

Hey guys,

I am not a hindu so don't have very extensive knowledge of these stories. I know about Ramayana and Mahabharta from tv shows only.

One thing keeps of bugging me ever since I started watching this show. this Shiv they show here is so dialoo, kirpaloo, trikal darshi etc. I can't see how this shiv could behead Ganesh a little boy. Is there any other story behind ganesh loosing his head.

I started reading about shiv and sati and parvati on the net. One source says that parvati wanted a child so much that shiv made it for her out of cloths. Parvati's mamta was so much that child turned real but due to bad effect of saturn the head fell off. after shiv saw parvati so sad he replaced the head with that of an elephant.

Can somebody narrate the real story to me

Shiv is also the God of destruction and as mahakal imparts justice. Even Vishnu is dayalu kripalu , didn't stop him from killing asuras. These stories have to be taken for more than the face value.

Ganesh was not a little boy. he was born fully grown from the sweats of devi parvati to protect her privacy. Shiva and his team of bhoots were not much literate in female privacy. So Devi made Ganesh. He stood guard at kailash when mother parvati went for a bath. Shiva wanted to enter and ganesh would not let him enter, as parvati had told him so. This led to a huge fight between ganesh alone and all the devas and vishnu and Shiv and Ganesh almost killed all of them. Two versions of story exist. one to stop ganesh from destroying civilization, Shiva beheads him.

Second is: Parvati comes out on seeing the commotion and claims him to be her son. So all the Gods and Goddesses start blessing Ganesh. Parvati's brother Shani dev( Saturn planet) also comes to bless him. Unfortunately, Shani dev had a curse that he will behead anyone he looks at. he looked at Ganesh and he was beheaded. Then parvati kicked up a huge fuss and she could not be contained. So shiva sent nandi to bring the first head around. The first living being nandi encountered was Airavat, Indra's elephant and he brought his head.

After this Shiva blessed Ganesh to be siddhidata and blessed him that no puja can be started unless Ganesh is worshipped.
