now what is wrong with that, that you have to react like

Note to self: Next time I talk to god, ask him to make me a "male" lion(king of the animal kingdom)😉

That is how we were created for reasons best known to God😃. How can we equate that and having a career outside or staying at home?😕😕

I feel men and women are both wired differently as we all know and hence gender roles were segregated traditionaly and historicaly but it is changing very fast now... Disintegrated roles although not completely is what most nuclear families have presently. Every person has limitaitons and I can't expect my husband to do what he can't do - like make Tea..😕 . Likewise I don't take my car to the garage for oil change..😃 As for working for living, whoever makes the most money gets to work and the other person gets to be home maker.

Why just Tea? There are men who even make good Biriyanis and women do take cars for oil change. There is no physical disability in doing that.

It happens in many households only the roles are reversed😉

Without a doubt! I pity men in that sense. Right from childhood, they are taught how they would be the bread-earners.

My thoughts exactly QT. I think it is unfair that boys are brought up that way whereas girls get to choose whether to have a career outside or just get married and settle. I think if times have really changed then both boys and girls be given choice in life.

I was trying to point out that men and women are wired differently hence segragetion of gender roles. Perhaps it doesn't make sense in today's age even though it has left lasting impression on our minds and social culture but it did have its role before when men were strictly external as hunters/ gatherers and women were internal providing domestic living.

As far as I know, its never either or it has always been home AND career. 😆

What if men choose to stay at home and ask women to go have a career? Will it be acceptable to women, to the society?
This is a need on basis situation. However, guilt, envy and feeling of insecurity may be still prevalent among spouses if traditional roles are reversed. But the trend is growing here in US. There are rare but about 98000 Mr. Moms (out of 26.5 Million young fathers) according to this US Census bureau release.

Wellsaid and US people are ahead in every aspect.Thank GOD India is still a developing country!!

I get your point but the question is with changing times and talk about women's liberation shouldn't we be much more broadminded or at least less biased?

This question is not directed at people following US lifestyle but for those who have maids at home, help to take care of kids and still prefer to be housewives😛. They made their choices and enjoying it.
