i think house hold work is much more thn office work. in office u r alloted a work and u have to do that specific work but in house u r sometimes required to do many tasks at the same time. its mainly due to multitask that women keep maids like if u have u pay attention to ur children and ur parents in law and cok food and clean and go shopping in a matter of few hrs whn will u have time for ur self and earlier whn u had joint families the work was divided but in nueclear families one woman has to do all the work so i dnt understand whts wrong personally i think women who cn manage both house and work together r superwomen and i bow to their effort

Yes, most certainly. If there is no one to help at home and both husband and wife have a career outside then both should share the housework too. I have seen it is very common these days in US at least that cooking & cleaning is done by wife and dishwashing and clothes are done by husband.

I have nothing against women who choose to stay at home to take care of house and kids but I have seen women in my family who have many maids and house help and still prefer to stay at home and all they do is shop and visit as many temples as possible. I am wondering where is the balance?

It depends upon each man.... some men do, some men dont.... even after telling them sometimes they dont do it.... thats really bad.... and some men without telling also... it is understood that women is working means have to share the workload at home....

ultimately it depends upon luck.... if you are lucky.. u get the one who does help... 😊

in my experience as i have seen men who help in household work help to an extent like max.40% still the work load is more on women not only physically but also mentally like women r held resposible for the actions of their children and husband also some times. so no matter wht, i dnt see there being balanced in responsibilities of men and women.

pata hai there r certain men who want their wives to loook good presentable and move in society so for that if they have to keep 100 maids they do.i think its purely mutual understanding between husband and wife.

and soceity has made these rules rather men have made these rules that they sld work and protect their family so wht u sow u have to reap.

Hey !! I do see the point you are making. Believe it or not, I have seen such men in my husband's side of the family. "Losers" is what I call them. But it pains me that women allow such degradation of themselves and seemingly ENJOY it.
The JOB of this particular wife is to be a DOLL ... 🤢
Yeah, then it is a thankless job and it deserves to be imho! Why would someone with dignity and esteem AGREE to such an arrangment?

I am not one of those women who blame men for every bad thing or for that matter good happening to women. At least in this case women are educated yet they prefer to be home and are not pressurized to work whereas men can't sit at home because society will mock at them. So that takes me back to my real question? Do men have choices? NO. Because for some things we still believe in set norms and don't welcome a change.

Trophy wife.😃

Does anyone remember an episode of ELR when Frank & Marie have an argument?

Marie says: I have a mind of my own you know! I can contribute! I'm not just some... trophy wife!"

Frank replies" "You're a trophy wife? What contest in hell did I win?"😆
