@Hadey- I am not surprised at the crowd for his funeral. Since 2 years the crowd for funerals of these militants were increasing. Not necessarily this crowd is anti-India but they are usually anti-govt , given the pattern. It's a cause of concern which is why Govt. should have handled the situation better after killing him. He was a popular figure , poster child.
Jeez, Indian press is owned by polity mostly. The narration doesn't surprise me. Heck the politicians fuelled it more .

HP is like Arjun, ...<edited the rest>

I resent this.

Arjuna was the greatest archer of his times. In Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 10, Verse 37, Lord himself says that "Of the descendants of Vrsni I am Vasudeva, and of the Pandavas I am Arjuna."

Harry Potter, by all accounts that I came across online, is an immature, prepubescent, fk!

I put them in the same bracket in terms of reader reactions they get, especially now in modern times, some do look at Arjun as immature , second to Karna and a cry-baby. 😆

HP was your typical 11 year old kid who just had Evil side gunning from his life every day. And the books were based during teen years hence- immaturity and prepubescent appeal.

Sorry, I have to "unfriend" you now because of the fact that you put them in the same sentence

Haha, but I am #TeamArjun. I find karna loving too annoying ..way too overhyped.
I , honestly, enjoyed HP, still do, but I do get the simplistic plots and characterisation, she wrote to sell which is fair enough.

Whatever our opinions about Rowling and HP, there is no denying the hype created at the time. I have never in my entire life pre ordered anything!! The wait for books, discussions with friends, crying buckets over fictional characters, hiding from my brother until i had finished reading so he wont spoil Deathly Hallows for me.
Harry Potter was an important part of my life during my teens and early twenties
I have only ever pulled all nighters for college work or Harry Potter.. Simplistic or not, her world worked for me and still does evidently.

After Harry Potter, only Game of Thrones has made me this crazy 😆
I might just read A Song of Ice and Fire

@Arwen- it was the craze, everyone talking about it . Young kids took to reading. Rowling did score alot on that. it's a nice healthy world , usual shit a pre-teen these days read be so crass.
it's part of childhood and growing up years, hence shamelessly , unapologetic. 😛😆

@OBJ - you made it after all! :) So when are you planning that trip to Nando's? 😛

@HP - the books and movies both bring back strong feelings of nostalgia. Can you imagine a bunch of 10yr olds in primary school arguing over "HOW DARE YOU TAKE HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED'S NAME", the waiting in line at Tesco's at midnight for the books, the nights you pretended to be asleep but were really up reading.

The Pokemon fan (and kid) in me can't wait to see what all the hype is about the app. Busy season at work however, means I currently have little time for anything other than work, eat and sleep. :(
