Read before posting a RELIGOUS TOPIC !

Dear Debaters

Due to past experiences and recent discussions it is evident that DM is not the best place for religion related topics. All of us believe in a different religion and to a different degree. That's what makes the world great, none of us have any right to point fingers at other people's actions or religious beliefs.

Debates dircted towards a specific religion are irrelevant to people of different religions, thus inacceptible. I-F is a secular forum without an emphasis on any particular religion or its beliefs and practices. I-F celebrates Eid and Diwali and hopes its members enjoy getting a taste of both holidays regardless of their own religion.

Other controversial religion-related debates have no right or wrong answer. Although most debates do not have a wrong or right answer and it is the job of the person debating to convince the other side that their believes are true this cannot be applied to religion related debates. We all believe in different religions and will support our viewpoint according to our religion which is irrelevant to others because they do not follow the same religion as you. In such debates, everyone is right because they believe in what their religion teaches.

It is of utmost importance that we all understand what DM is about. We are here to take part in mind-stimulating discussions and debates. These can vary from politics to entertainment or from fashion to sports or anything else you would like to discuss. DM is by far the last place to fight over religious sumpremecy. No one is here to preach their religion or prove other people's religion wrong. It is unethical and inconsiderate to do so.

***Having said all this, DM dev team would like to introduce a new policy to all of you. We have decided that it is to the best interest of all of us (and a healthy environment) to stay away from religion related topics. If any of you feel the urge to have a religion related discussion, you MUST PM either myself or Raj5000, tisha_g or MNMS for permisison. If we decide that your topic is not too controversial and has not been done yet, feel free to start the discussion. If we think your topic will create an unplesant environment please respect our descision and debate on something else. Any religion related topic started without the approval from one of us will be automatically trashed without any explanations. Everyone is expected to abide by all I-F and DM rules which now includes this policy.

Please note: Although this decision was taken keeping the best interest of all debators in mind, we are open to suggestions and ideas with regards to this subject or this new rule. We've had some members show their un- happiness over this new rule. If we recieve enough PM's from debators asking us to change this rule, the DM development team will certainly consider looking into it. After all we'd like to see our debators have a great time here at DM !! 😊

Im glad this rule is implemented,at times iv seen religious debates turning into ugly fights

lolz tea dot di...i know u love religion topics but not every1 knows how 2 deal with them at a mature and unbiased level

but if u really want religion topics u can start them as long as u PM 1 of us for approval first..it feels weird givig approval to a once GM..lol...but rules are rules and this is our ballfield not urz 😉

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww😳.. Don't worry T. u still have got ur favorite topic in hand -Economics related ones😳 ... I think if u didn't use to like economics earlier...then its the credit to DM debates which made this particular niche of topic as ur favorite ..Isn't it???😉😛

Ok now .. i saw the note... under proper conditions and supervision .. if nothing wrong happens .. then i guess.. well im double-minded at the moment and its tooooooo early to say anything for now 😕
