Let me first define as far as scope of this topic is concerned

Generation 1 - Immigrant parents, who moved as a choice they made from their own comfort zone of neighborhood / town / city / country to a new place, that according to them offered better life (opportunity/career/growth/well being of future family).

Generation 2 - Children of Generation 1, whose comfort zone was based upon their parents only but they have/had a new culture/upbringing to face and build their own life.

Do you understand the position of both generation, think about it. This is open topic; you are free to add more on defining the parameters of Generation 1 and Generation 2.

Debate is simple -

Challenges / Sacrifices / Compromises / overall, which generation scores more - Generation 1 or Generation 2? Why?

I can relate to this one topic, but I don't have time on my hands right now. One quick statement -- I feel that in order for one generation to successfully adapt in foreign nations, one whole generation is sacrificed, their dreams, goals, wishes --- everything. And then that is how the next generation can prosper.

More later.

Hey im back at 2.15am

Belonging from the second generation myself, i would without a doubt say that my parents ie first generation had to suffer alot more and had to face more challenges than i would perhaps do in my life. They obviously had to sacrifice alot more than first generation, they were the ones to take the first step to a better life , they were the ones that had to leave their native land only to called a foreigner, they were the ones that struggled in life to adapt to the new changes and new cultures. they were the one that made the second generation life easy and comfortable, they were the ones that migrated from the developing countries to the develop country to develop and shape a better life not only for themselves but for the coming generations. They are the ones that we inspire from and learn from. They are are our elders and teach us the meaning of life and how much they had to sacrifice. If i even do a portion of what they did, then im complete.

Generation 2 any day.

Okay im rambling now, i think i should sleep now.zzzz

Good Night!

XoXo

If generation 1 has been successful in what it sought to achieve, then generation 2 shouldn't have any extra problems as such. Cos its the transitional phase that is always the toughest phase.

However , if generation 1 is still struggling to adjust , then generation 2 will have its share of problems , but there a lot of situations that can arise in this case
