Manav's decision

Today's episode was all about Manav's decision.

As Chhanchhan put it so rightly, Manav loves her, but he also loves his mother a lot, and she knows it ... the ball was really in his court. She knew it was a battle for Manav too.

Her family was completely supportive ... as her Daadi said, the duty of parents is not only to rear their children, but also encourage them to spread their wings and fly the nest ... would Manav be able to fly the nest without his parents' support?
And the conversation between Chhanchhan's parents reinforced that ... although her father was still very apprehensive about sending his darling daughter into the lion's den, her mother was calmer and more pragmatic ... if Manav's support is enough for Chhanchhan, then let her make her decision ... it's her life, and they had enough faith in their daughter that she would decide correctly, using both head and heart. Dil ka kaha maanti hai ... but she also uses her head.

So Manav ...
First he writes a letter ... then he leaves the letter at his mother's feet ... then he proceeds to give her the gist of the letter in words, in case she misses it, or forgets to read it or something ...

and Uma Ben is no less .. she listens, while pretending to be asleep ... then runs after his car to stop him ... hey bhagwan, lady, why couldn't you stop him then and there? Why run after his car? So much drama! 😆

All very dramatic ... the upshot is that Manav has made his decision ... and his decision is of course ... Chhanchhan. Manav the dikra is gone .. for the present moment, anyway. 😉

Some good dialogues from Manav today ... which really showed why he made his decision when earlier he was ready to give up Chhanchhan without a murmur for his mother's sake .. all about the deceit his mother had practised ...
"You have such a big stature in society, in this house and family ... and today your stature became so small in the eyes of your son .."

And when Uma Ben gave him the usual spiel of having done it all only for his happiness, CC was the wrong girl for him, she would definitely deceive him, he gave her an unanswerable reply ... 'Chhanchhan will deceive me? But you already deceived me today ... you, the person whom I trusted far more than Chhanchhan ... "

Leaving Uma Ben with no words ... it was the truth after all.
So Uma Ben is defeated for the moment ... a normal mother who just realised her drama might have lost her son.

In the meantime Chhanchhan is missing ... so was Sanaya for a good part of the episode ... please, cv's, we can't sit through too much of Manav without the necessary Chhanchhan dose ... aage se yaad rakhna. Fortunately from the precap, she is very much around and safe ... so will wait for tomorrow and CC's answer ... a provisional NO ... good girl, that's the way. Make Uma Ben beg your family for your hand ... otherwise she will lose her son.

Saw the episode a little late today as ipl rocks in my home right now ... Anyway thought it was another good episode ... Supriya ji is just fab, loved her vulnurability today ...and her desperation in not letting manav go ..

Great post Diya... my take is that we saw a different facet of UB today. She admitted to her mistake when Manav took a strong decision ( following him to the car was too dramatic!)... not many people do it ... so there is hope for UB as yet.

What I liked was that the Sarabhai family is still concerned, no hurry in going back to their smiling selves. They were depicted in a very natural way. Also, I'm enjoying Dadi- Chhanchhan scenes and relation. Hope the Sarabhais will continue to play a significant role after the shaadi.

Tomorrow should be Chhanchhan's day, as we will hear her decision...it will be the promo we got a week or so back, that she will try to impress Uma Ben.

Thanks, showviewer ... yes, today's episode was all about Manav and his decision ... only after that could the show proceed 😛 I liked the Manav-UB confrontation ... felt it was done well. Manav was all ready to give up the love of his life for his mother's sake ... he probably might have done so if she had asked him straight out and told him that she did not feel CC was the right girl for him. What hurt him terribly was the deceit his mother used ... as he put it, that broke his faith in her, his own mother ... quite a huge thing for a Mamma's boy ...

Again, it is a REAL PITY the actor is not good enough to bring out the pain the character should be going through ... FK was adequate today but since his dialogues were well written, and Uma Ben was good, the episode did leave an impact. His hurt and feeling of betrayal came out ... it could have been better, but I guess we have to take what we get.
I was actually a little disappointed in Uma Ben today ... have to re-watch to see her reactions again ... I want to see her realization that her own drama is what drove her son to rebellion, not just his love ... I wish there had been a dialogue where he told her that. And I think that is what will ultimately force her to accept Chhanchhan.

Loved the Sarabhais again ... and I am so glad they kept the focus on their dilemma as well ... a very tough decision for any girl's family to make. I also hope they keep the Sarabhais prominent after the wedding ... their scenes really lighten up the episode.

I think CC's decision will be what she said on the SBS ... she refuses to marry Manav in an elopement ... and tells him it has to be with the blessings of his family. After that, have to see how it will go ...
