I never visit ATs as a rule but secretly lurked this one to find what exactly happened to result in the closure of the AT. It was the same thing I mentioned earlier. You do not indulge in satire in an AT. It generally offends.

If it is an AT for the hero, you appreciate only the hero and talk about other characters including the heroine only if they are related to your praise of the hero. Moreover, you cannot criticize anybody in an AT.

If it is an AT for the lead pair, you only appreciate their pair. You neither praise one at the expense of the other nor criticize either of the lead pair whatever be the reasons. If you have praise, you praise. But even justified criticism you never make it in an AT.

You can make such observations only in general threads. Similarly if it is a Chandini AT, you are supposed to discuss only the Chandini pair and not any other pair or any other characters. The rules for ATs are generally like that. There is nothing we can do about it.

Nothing at all to worry about! A thread got closed. In JA IF if I remember right, it used to happen all the time. In CAS IF, many of our general threads and threads which were clearly specified as fun or satire threads too got closed. And we weren't given permission for a frustration thread either because the Mod felt we wouldn't use it properly or rather we would misuse it.

Aisi Badi Badi forums main aisi choti moti nok- jhok hoti rehthi hai! In two days, this will be forgotten. We live, we experience, and we learn from pleasant experiences and unpleasant ones as well.

Well, young ladies, what I do not understand is WHY you go the AT at all! The thing is that you cannot simply walk away from a show which riles you, you must go and either frequent the sole embarassingly gushing thread that posts episode analyses or this AT!😉

Shailaja is absolutey correct, and that is the very reason why I have NEVER set foot in an AT even at the height of my Jodha Akbar days. When an AT has specific rules, you have to obey them or be penalised.

And as for Rajat having more and more ferociously supportive fans, what is new about that? He has earned it, and I only hope he soon replenishes his depleted credit balance even with his most committed but rational admirers like yours truly. As for support for Shwetha, while I have not seen the thread as it would be too fatiguing, that is most likely as a reaction against Rajat. She has NOTHING like the frenetic fan following Paridhi's Jodha had.

Of course Prem. and I used to like him a very great deal. I came to him only when I came back from Geneva in the mid-70s, by which time he had crossed his days as a very menacing villain - I missed Mera Gaon Mera Desh- and moved on to hero roles.

One thing was that he was very handsome in the classical Indian maharaja like style. He was perfect as the young Rana in Meera. Dharmendra's good looks were more earthy and dehati. He was also genuinely macho, and did not need props like stylised entries and staged fight scenes to create that impression. He had presence in spades.

Two, his performances were alway very competent, and at times - as in Achanak, Inkaar, Imtehaan, Lekin, Meera, Satyameva Jayate and even in regular masala movies like Insaaf- superb. But he could not handle comedy very well - for he was too dignified to really let himself go - and was generally at his best in serious scenes.

Though he succeeded quite easily and never had the very long run of failures that Amitabh Bachchan had to surmount at the beginning of his career, Vinod Khanna seems to have resented the better treatment given by scripts to Amitabh, which was of course dictated by Amitabh's mass popularity. But that is the sort of thing that was not unique to him; Naseeruddin Shah, with all his art film dominance, also resented the fact that he could not match Amitabh's raw mass appeal. Like Laurence Olivier wanting to be a superstar like Cary Grant!

Not many could have restarted a film career as Vinod Khanna did after dropping out for 4 years at his peak. And not many would have walked away like that to follow an inner calling. The man was clearly different from the usual run of film heroes. The Osho International Centre in Pune is less than a km from where I live, and it is still doing well.

I do not know anything about his private persona, but that seems to have been dignified too, unlike the crude antics of many of the current generation of so-called stars. I am sure his soul will rest in peace after a life well lived. He should have had many more years, but then the Big C is an enemy that very few can conquer.

My dear Avantika,

As you might have seen from my earlier post, I do not at all care what Rajat does in his private life, or even if he has affairs with all three of his female counterparts in CN, so long as he does not let his talent down and his performances are up to his standard of excellence, which is very high.

If he was as nuanced as he can be, his personal life would not bother me at all. But as you would see from my interim response a page or two earlier - which has a section addressed to you - even this litte clip I saw does not look at all satisfactory.

My eyes are tired and need a cold compress. I will be back later to clear the backlog in my responses.

Let me very honest. .after reading those rumours i have washed off my hands on him...yes,it may or may not be true.Somehow i did not like to see cn after it.i admit everybody has a personal life,we cannot question it..that rumour has killed cn and their charm for me.

Superb tribute to Vinod Khanna - Had not watched much of his films but he came across very graceful and soft spoken in the SImi Garewal interview he did years ago with his much learned wife Kavitha ( WHo used to work for Mckinsey). He has done very unconventional things - I watched Amar Akbar Anthony song today - When someone is going, I want to remember that phase and face especially for some one as handsome as Vinod Khanna. I wrote a very small note in my FB page 1 hour back and somehow reflected very few of your thoughts here.

Will try to catch up some of the movies you mentioned.

I was under the impression that Megesthenese was just an Ambassador from Greece sent to the court of the Mauryan King Chandra Gupta Maura, Did he ever become a Mukhya Prime Minister? Its baffling me or is this a CV made up story. Please throw some light on this please?

He was only an Ambassador, Anu.

I don't watch the show, so I do not know about this mammoth natakiya rupantar, but when Chanakya is there, how can this chap become the Mukhya Mahaamatya? See, I am so glad I quit when I did!
