🤣 That was hilarious aunty!!

The resemblance is uncanny 😆

It sure is a pity, because the character casting in PB is absolutely stellar! So had the lead cast been this man:

Or even say, Vishal Jethwa, who almost always gets cast as the bad guy unfortunately... except in the show below, where he played an adorable geek 😳

Then we could have had a very, very different graph of TRP innings. Both these boys are attractive and excellent actors, with the necessary screen presence and X-factors.

Incidentally, I found this picture of the kid who plays little Baji. Gotta admit he looked much better with a head full of hair 😆

2. Nor am I ready to see Chandragupta Maurya, who literally worshipped Chanakya in real life, argue with him and contradict him in front of Apama. It is ugly and intolerable. 😡I think this script is by now beyond redemption.

3. Well, the sole mod must be pleased to have at least one peacable and well behaved thread, so I do not think she will close us down on grounds of the length!😉

4. That is the problem with a historical or mythological show where the junior male lead is so good and so popular that he makes life very difficult for the adult version. It was the same with Faisal in Maharana Pratap, with Siddharth in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, and of course with Rajat in Prithviraj Chauhan.

5. What I liked about him as a person in the last 2 weeks of CAS was that he did not shut up shop and sleepwalk thru those episodes. He did his best to the end, and that was admirable.

6. But it was not as Mahadev that Mohit was at his best in DKD Mahadev. It was as the turbulent, star-crossed, doomed, tragic Jalandhar. I wrote in that forum only for the 6 weeks of the Jalandhar track, and if I say so myself, those posts were really good. So much so that the writer, Utkarsh Naithani, and I became good friends, and towards the end of the Jalandhar track, he wrote a scene that he told me was specially for me, as he felt only I would understand it properly.

If you have missed that track, do try and catch up with it. It was from early May to early June 2013. And if you feel up to it, with my posts as well. Half of them are on Utkarsh's FB page, however, including some of the best, written over the last 10 days. But I have all of them, as Mohit Raina's webpage administrator asked for them and posted them there.

7. Sonarika, of course. She was a real, statuesque beauty, and was the perfect Parvati. She was foolish to quarrel with the PH, apparently over parity with Mohit, and leave. And the show suffered too, of course, but I think she lost more.

8. If it is going to be an Ekta production, NO! She will reduce him to something that is less than 50% of Chandra, just as she has made this Chandra less than 50% of Jalal. The problem is that a non-historical seems to almost always mean a soap, and there are no strong male roles in those. I would ideally like him to play a Holmesian character, the lead in a detective series, or a famous tycoon or a hotshot lawyer in a show centred on him.

OK, my eyes are kaput by now.Bye, my dear.

Awww thaaanks for such a long and lovely response aunty, BIIIG HUG 🤗

1. Ahh so that's her name! Yes, she is the one...gosh, she's kinda tough. But unintentionally hilarious 😆

2. That is so true...the latest developments are ugly, and yes the show has reached its "no redemption anymore" mark.

3. 😳😳 Oh that we sure are! Excuse me while I polish my halo 😳😳

4. That's what! It fills me with a tinge of sad nostalgia at the mention of Rajat in the list. What ironiy, Rajat then, and Rajat now...go die Balaji Telefilms! Prithviraj Chauhan was a different production house no? The adult Prithviraj and even Samyukta couldn't stand a chance against the popularity Rajat and Mugdha had garnered! Although I never found Mugdha all that impressive (fans would kill me). She was ok, chirpy and all. Paridhi was a better actress in comparison, but again I was not a fan AT ALL thanks to her heavy Jodha'ness 😆 Out of all the co-actors Rajat has had, I like Shweta the most. But I really don't know why Rajat is doing this! This is NOT what he is about.

5. Absolutely! That sincerity Mohit had for sure, and kudos to that. It takes a lot for an actor who has realized the show isn't working anymore, and still continue giving hos 100% to it because of commitment ethics. Very, very admirable.

6. What!!! Are you serious?!!! Wow I'd love to read your posts, send me links if you can, or I'll dig them up anyway 😃 Omg that's so sweet, so sensitive of him to frame a scene just for you...which one was it? The last or second last episode of the Jalandhar track? I'll watch it again 👏

7. Damn!!! She lost an ever memorable role, and they lost an excellent Parvati. She really looked the part. The next lady who followed was too plain for Parvati. And then even she quit/got replaced!

8. I agree completely about the Holmesian bit, that Rajat should get cast in a serious detective or tycoon kind of a role next...a man who means business. And additionally by a PH which is NOT Balaji! Balaji has produced a couple of really good movies though - Shor In The City and Ek Thi Dayan to be specific. Ek Thi Dayan had a strange theme, but the handling of the first half was terrific! I don't know what happens to her quality when she starts making serials, historicals especially. JA was still okay, the initial 200 episodes that is. But CN is such a HUGE letdown, it's not even funny anymore

I rushed through the last few pages to catch up with your posts and read that your eyes haven't recovered yet. And you still keep straining them. Why doing this, aunty, why... :/
Hmm...I know why...I would do the same thing 😆
How is your mother doing?
I loved your post on Vinod Khanna, and the comments on other shows too :))
And after putting up this list of comments that is as scatter-brained as me, I'm going to disappear to begin work on a much delayed chapter.
I hope you have a peaceful and pleasant weekend, my dearest Shyamala aunty 🤗

No, Sarika, it is not criticising him for his looks. Though when you get into the acting profession, you have to be prepared for that too, for a lot of the impression an actor produces on the viewers depends on his looks. If an actor wants to be protected from negative comments, he or she should not get into this profession. Period.

Just because he is 12 does not mean that this kid is above criticism, even as he pulls an otherwise excellent show down.

It is really a question of whether this youngster is suited for the role, and whether he adds value to the production by his acting even if his looks do not fit the character. On both counts, this Baji scores very low.

And as I have sought to bring out from earlier cases of historicals being boosted by a very good choice for the lead in his young avatar, this choice is vital, and the PH have goofed up on it. Now if they choose Nikitin Dheer for the adult Bajirao, it will put the lid on it, and the show will collapse.

Aunty I hope your eye pain is better now. Summer are really hard to cope up and it will be worse to suffer from eye pains and infection during this season. Rose water helps. In our house we used to dilute Thiruman( Nama Katti) and apply on eyes if it became sore. It really helps in reducing pufness and infection..

Coming to criticism,Aunty You have touched the correct chord. Yes,If you want to be in limelight ,then you have to face criticism. In carnatic music katcheries also first row is allocated for critics. Aunty ,you could have heard about a music critic called Subudu. That man has not spared any musicians.Only MS SUbbulakshmi was left by him, because MS had received praises from Gandhiji itself for her performance on song called Maitryim Bhajate .Later She sang this same song in live concert in UN organisation. The famous song was written by Great Periyava of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. He penned it after world war 2 .The song goes like" let peace prevails in the world."
I think this song is apt for this serial and the forum. Let peace prevail amongst Fans and neutral viewers of Cn.

I am not sure if they'll even get there in the first place 😆

Maybe the show will just end with Bharat Mata happily announcing: "Aur fir mera sabse mahaan putra Chandragupta aur meri adarsh putri Nandini humesha ke liye eksaath khushi khushi rehne lage."

But if they do touch upon Shravanabelugola, it'll be entirely because by then Chandra the-shephard-turned-emperor will have reached his zenith of kingly frustration. His ultimate breaking point. In this overwhelm against stately affairs, and Chanakya's usual sermons about how the "ideal king should never waste time falling in love with his favourite queen", Chandra may suddenly snap, disown everything and flee for good. But with Nandini, not to mention. I am 100% certain Ekta Kapoor won't be sending him off alone! So much for sanity 🤪😆
