Oh yes, I agree completely. Shweta is still keeping up the conviction in her performance, and quite perceptibly so. It makes one appreciate the actress, irrespective of how bleak the rest of the show is. These days, I really like her.

What's appalling however, is why Rajat isn't doing the same? He has always been known for 100% cogency no matter what. I remember from his Jalal days, even at the show's utmost Jodha worshipping phase, RT came across as far more compelling.

Maybe the overall character brief for Akbar had been more organised and well developed right at the onset, which is why Rajat could hold on to some basic "Jalal"ness even during the dumber days.

CN's Chandra is exactly what happens when the CVs are lazy, unclear and hasty to conclude. I still haven't been able to make out if Rajat's Chandra is supposed to be a cerebral and strong rags-to-riches monarch who means business and has a personality of his own, or an emperor-by-destiny-theth charwaha-by-choice, who is just a shadow of his Acharya, who still feels awkward sitting on that throne, and if he could have his own way he would happily go back to his former life in Patalgram.

It's like this perky, brawny man-on-a-mission sets out to win Magadh because that's what he has been oriented to do since his tweens; but once he wins, he is suddenly clueless and palpably discomfited in his new life and roles. Add to that, the poor man falls in love with his nemesis, stays confused about it for a while, more so because of his Acharya's additional baggage of 'no love' groundrules... but then grows ecstatic when he finally figures! Finally, oh finally he has some purpose in life. But then on one very wrong day, all of that is ruthlessly snatched away...and now he's kinda dead. And dead he sure is, literally and otherwise.

Besides somehow I feel this new look of his is making things worse. The haircut and the stubble...😕 I don't know...maybe it's just me, but I preferred his previous do more.

About Shweta, yes she has a much, much better public and media rapport. I like the way she deals with the two brackets with a certain sincerity, maturity and yet some polite distance.

Aunty your description of baji actor left me 🤣 Dobby look alike, that was epic. I thought show was going good, trp well for Desi tv it's hardly based on confent, or else nagin2 won't be having top ratings.

May I know how you liking Ranjit Singh and how's the show going so far? I stay away from historical cause whatever I read on book don't match on screen but he's one character who's magnificent! And everyone around me is busy with bajirao so wanted to know your views.

These days I am watching MRS instead of CN in the same time slot. I am liking the show for now. Don't know how long it is going to stay that way. The going is inspirational for now. Never got round to watching BR as we do not get Sony TV in our Yupp package. So except having a good laugh at the Dobby quip of the show by Aunty, not au courant with that show.

After many days i caught up with CGM this week

Nandini is back in palace as a dai ma LOl and no one recognized her except dadi

Wheres chaya? I liked chaya because she acted like a mature lady and also like a princess among all comedians like dadi mura etc

I read a article on rajath having afafir with Tanu aka helena

Is this a ploy to increase TRP? LOL TRP will not increase with gimmicks

I even read an article that had rajaths tweets where he was trying to target press indirectly

So is this rumaor press made?

Anyways who cares about personal life of stars etc

CN has gone from worst to depth of seas

IN JA akbar had kicked Jodha out of palace and once she ran off with Kyber

Here CGM kicked Nandini without any great analysis out ogf magadh and suddenly for Bindu he gets her back how and why?

Nandini and baby Bindu are acting better than CGm nowadays

1. So true! Because CN's Chandra is an illogical, inconsistent and irreverent mutt...that's why

2. Oh yes, Nandini is a big reason why the show, particularly the CN scenes, are is still fighting to stay afloat, performance wise. Shweta is good. And the new Bindu is kinda adorable, I agree. Especially the way he looks helplessly at Nandu from time to time, probably saying: "mujhe apne grumpy daddy and churail stepmom se bachao" 😆

Shailishri - thanks for the reply. Yep it come on same slot and I restarted CN this week. Shweta acting food but Rajat meh. SP needs to end the show asap, it's like historical version of kumkum bhagya. They need a reason to ghrina Nandini and now Chandra/chanakya, man such stupidity. Lifeok don't get trp much so hopefully it will have a short and impactful run.

My dear Prem,

What an unfailingly thoughtful and kind young man you are! Thank you so much for your concern. My mother is very tired these days, which is not surprising seeing how hot it is in general, and when she comes out of the bedroom, it is like a thermal shock. Then she is constantly trying to limit the AC usage! 😆But I hope that in another month, when the pre monsoon showers come, things will improve, weather-wise and for her as well.

My hands were better for the last month, and the pain was bearable, but now it is getting worse again. But then that it is the way it has been for over a year, and so long as it does not spike and become unbearable, I can manage.

I see that the show is slipping and slipping, for when the viewers are left to cling to a baby for succour, that is bad news!😉 But then it is exactly as Joyee says, this Chandra is the worst drawn character it has been my misfortune to see, and I am also sad that Rajat seems to be making things even worse with his uninterested performance. It had already started, this detached attitude, around episode 110, and it must have got worse by now. And when the leading man becomes a negligible factor, the show is doomed. It was so even in Peshwa Bajirao, which has a superb array of supporting characters. Here there is nothing, for we have only the hammy Aapama, Helena, and the Mura-Daadi jugalbandi.

It is late now but I will be back tomorrow to respond to the other posts. So Shailaja, Ria and Joyee, see you tomorrow once I am back from the hospital.
