Hello Shyamala Aunty & all 🤗
So good to know that both you & Grandma are doing good on the health front 👍🏼

I can see that most of you'll have lost interest in CN...😆...Woh to hona hi Tha...😆...Aap log der se aaye, Lekin durust aaye...😉

I stopped watching PB also after the initial 2-3 weeks...Though I miss Bihu a lot...She's such a cutie pie ( I wish I had a daughter like her )...But the show was too slow paced n the lead child actor too bad...So I fled 😆

I'm only watching Beyhadh at the moment, n m loving it...

My one kiddo completed his boards n my other kiddo is coming home tomorrow ...So I'm like super duper happy 🥳

Ok...Ciao all...😊

My dear Khushi,

Delightful to be in touch with you again and to know that you are going to luxuriate in the company of both your kids, and that with the board exams being over, your chowkidarni duties are also at an end!😉 Also to find that amidst all this fleeing, you have not quite fled from us, your old friends!

As for me and your Grandma, I wish your hopeful optimism was justified. Unfortunately, it is not. My mother had a bad setback to her heart a month ago, with its working dropping suddenly to half of what it was 6 months ago, and since then it has been nothing but a lot of tension for me. Now we are settling in for a long haul of stronger medication, frequent checkups and, hopefully, incremental progress. It is going to take several months before we get anywhere. All the progress over the last 5 years has been wiped out at one stroke. Anyhow, there is nothing to be done but to cope with it.

As for me, I have forgotten about my own problems, which is perhaps the sole positive fallout of this crisis.

Take care of yourself and of the family.

Affectionately,

Shyamala Aunty

As my Lashykanna would say - undoubtedly wisely nodding her head for emphasis😉- what the so-called TRP aunties like is Drama with a capital D. Not romance, not history, not wars, not politics. Only Drama.

And Periyamma... don't call the progress a complete wipe-out...
Patti is back at home, arguing with you about the AC (and a few other things???) right?

Right! About a whole host of things. If I was not there to keep a sharp lookout, she would sneak into the kitchen and start cooking! 😉

I need you, my poppet, to remind me about the sunny side of things.

Aunty Ma reminds me of my husband s nani ,she was almost in her nintees when we went to India to his mom and nani as my sas her only child, she used to actually rub her feet on the floor to make sure i was clean and used watch the lady if she clened under the bed and around corners 😊
She had no illness just old age it was my mother in law who was sick but she took care of her mother that's why she left her kids to take care of her mom

Amina dear ,

The part in bold is so typical and so priceless! Every post from you amuses me and peps me up a bit, and if it were not for your farman against thank yous, I would have said so! Bless you too, my dear.

They were all like that, my nani too, and they trained the household staff well and kept them at that level.

And I am not in the least surprised that your saas left her kids and went off to look after her aged mother. A mother's claim on the love and caring of her children ranks above all else.

Finally, it is truly a blessed life when one can pass away quietly of old age without having tubes stuck down one's nose and throat and being plugged into a machine to keep one alive in a cabbage like state.

Sandhya my poppet, and my other dear friends here,

I have done a couple of laments about the pathetic TRP of Peshwa Bajirao, a till now excellent show, in that forum, which is as anaemic as the show's ratings.

Apart from attributing a good part of the poor showing to what I feel is the totally inappropriate choice for the young Baji, an opinion that you and I and many others share, I have also voiced some apprehensions that I felt after watching the last 3 episodes.

I am reproducing that extract here for you and the other viewers of Peshwa Bajirao here who might be interested in it.

For one thing, all this preaching about Jo hati nahin wo Marathi nahin .. Marathi sar kata sakta hai, jhuka nahin sakta.. is getting to be very boring when it is repeated umpteen times. And Baji thinks of the latter pearl of wisdom when he is right in the middle of a life or death situation for the whole Marathi contingent in Daulatabad. Any astute kid would have bent over double saluting the captain in order to escape unnecessary scrutiny, but not our vainglorious Baji. Such foolish posturing!😡

This is the problem with shows like this: they have to be hagiographic. There can be no grey shades. What to talk of grey shades, there is here not even any cunning of the kind that the real Baji must have been awash with . Instead, there is bhashangiri enough to rival Jodha Begum at her most vigorous!😉

Then, I did not like the way in which Radha Bai literally apparated into Daulatabad a la Harry Potter. How the devil did she get there so quickly by bullock cart? Did they all fly over on magic brooms? It is nonsense of the kind I had not expected from a thus far superbly rational script. What was the need for her to turn up and pontificate about mathrutva at all?

Plus I was very disappointed by the downturn in Balaji Vishwanath's good sense barometer. Was he planning to send both his head and Baji's in a box to Kamruddin, and then be confident that nothing would happen to the villagers? And what about the Rescue and Regain Daulatabad campaign he was supposed to be heading?

Most relevant of all, since when has the life of a general been equal to the life of a common soldier or that of a common citizen? It is puerile, populist stuff that makes no sense at all.

The deterioration has already begun. Mark my words. I do not think we need worry about the Mastani phase, for that is a long, long way off, and if the TRPs stagnate like this or dip even lower, we might not get there at all. You and I have seen how this kind of thing led to a sudden collapse in Ashoka. It was unbelievable.

Yes. Baji used to have tinges of Jodha earlier. But now he is deteriorating into a full fledged Jodha Begum.😡🤢

Are the makers trying to use the time tested formula of dramebaazi?

Yes. It made no sense. Comparing this to how Balaji outwitted Qamaruddin by taking back the chouthai fooliahly promised by Shivaji Raze, by tempting him with Deccan, this Balaji looks out of his elements. Couldn't they ask for help from Satara for reinforcements if an attack was expected?

Most relevant of all, since when has the life of a general been equal to the life of a common soldier or that of a common citizen? It is puerile, populist stuff that makes no sense at all.

Then why do black cats and body guards die for their leader?😡

The final war in which Ashoka's army had 7 soldiers in all...🤣 And the entire Kalinga war sequence was rushed up in 1 episode when they decided to shut shop while they doled out swayamvadhu for months.

It would be a pity if PB was closed. I would miss Tara Rani and Aurangazeb a lot. Loved their aar paar scene today.👏
