This is really interesting! Did this happen in history?! In the show they haven't shown anything like that so far, but I do hope they show something like this! 😊

Thanks for sharing this bit... now we have got a new entry as well, wonder who was that?!😉

There are always these kinds of "moment of inspiration" stories about all great historical figures. No one can either confirm or refute them, but they are firmly part of the collective memory of the people as a whole, from which they cannot be erased.

I have heard this story too, only it was about a plate of rice, which is more plausible, for a chapati is roughly uniformly hot all over, whereas the heaped rice would be scalding hot at the centre. And the person listening to the mother's advice was not Chanakya but Chandragupta himself. Let us see if this interesting scene is picked up by the CVs.

Another such is the story of King Robert Bruce of Scotland, whose attempts to regain his kingdom from the English in the late 13th century, failed again and again, in all 12 times. He was on the point of abandoning his cause when he is said to have watched a spider manage to complete its web only on the 13th attempt. He took heart from it, and tried again, and of course the 13th attempt was successful! Now you won't find this tale in the history books, but every Scotsman believes it!

With all due respect to the "Eureka" moments, & "moments of inspiration" & "Scottish kings", the only reason y EK didn't show Chandra winning yesterday's war is that he doesn't yet know about his lineage n his parents' brutal treatment by Nand.....period.😆
That will be a mega TRP epi...mother crying, son vowing for revenge, Chanakya pleading for motherland, son vowing revenge again 😆...EK sure knows how to milk such epis.

Chandra HAS to know about his father's murder BEFORE he kills Nand...that we be the EUREKA moment here...😃

War strategies gaye tel lene....😆😉😆 as far as EK is concerned.

See, this is why I need the little wretch designation for you!😉 And why should Ekta not milk that for all it is worth? It is commonsense. Except that Mura does not weep. She reminds me of one of the Greek Furies.

He didn't win it yesterday - and I had said on Lashy's thread that he would not as it would have been too soon - because that would have reduced the number of episodes. I am sure this one is targetting 500 plus.

The chapati-chawal stuff is not relevant at this point. It is for later, and it might well surface, to the delight of all those who have heard of it.

What I want to know is this. If Chandragupta intends not to let that bleeding wound on his right, ie sword hand, heal at all till he has conquered Magadha, how on earth will he fight at all? Maybe with the left one, like the savyasaachi Arjuna. He was splendid last night, scything thru the enemy horde with both swords, while his mount was on auto pilot.

Not just by the abysmal standards, if one could call them that, of Ashoka, but even by the standards of the battles shown in Ekta's Jodha Akbar, last night's battle scene was very good.

The numbers in the field were decent, if not huge, and there was the feel of dust and blood and fear and confusion in the air. Chandragupta looked splendid scything thru the enemy with both swords. I only wish he had decapitated at least the senapati and Vakranaas.

Shyamala Aunty

According to this post he actually manages to decapitate Nand and Sons because they are sleeping with their ears stuffed with cotton wool to escape the besure singing. Everything was over even before they knew it like the Greek Agamemnon who was murdered in his sleep. In the show, Nand and Sons are still alive. I knew despite all this build up and rousing speeches both by Chanakya and Chandra in different places, it was going to ultimately fail though they succeed in causing heavy losses to the Magadhan army.

One, their army has to be better organized and trained to face the mighty military machine of Magadh. Theirs is a ramshackle, rag tailed army at its very best. A big empire like that does not fall apart in a single day or with a single battle. I was very certain that Chandra and Chanakya were not going to manage to win the first time itself. According to history also Chandra is routed the first time when he directly attacks Magadh.

Then Chanakya has his Eureka moment seeing a mother scolding a child for attempting to eat a piping hot roti from the centre. She advises him to eat from the edges. That is when Chanakya advises Chandra to weaken the borders of Magadh by eating away it edges before launching an attack on the centre, ie. Patliputra.

I am glad that this war saga is going to continue for some time at least without being a one day wonder just like my one post victory of Chandra here. Glad that Ekta is showing at least this much of history. I never actually expected her to. And coming to the Great War scene of CN, it was infinitely better than the four strong armies of CAS which looked like a concert with just the performer and mike set man to keep him audience and an empty auditorium. I will have only good words for the action scenes in CN after my CAS war scene disasters.

😆...yes I know...little wretch is indeed special for me 😉😆

RT was absolutely magnificent in yesterday's epi ⭐️👏...but frankly, the essence of the war scene was taken away by the almost comical scenes of the women watching n giving live commentary from their palace balcony...as also Chanakya & Chandra's absolutely comical argument in the centre of the battlefield 😆

No, my pet, but I was distracted by other things when I was watching it intermittently. I will rewatch ti from my recording and let you know if I spot it. I am not very good at these things, so you might well have to help me out in the end!

OK, dear, my fingers need a rest and a massage. See you later. My post will, I hope, be out tomorrow, and I will also try to respond in brief to all the comments on this thread, of which I have not yet touched even one so far.

Silly boy... it's all high-and-mighty words... just because Chanakya vowed not to tie his hair, Chandra is busy making Pratigyas too...all Chanakya would get by not tying up his hair is a very very knotted mane. If Chandra's wound doesn't heal, he'll end up getting sepsis 😔

🤣
And what is he going to do to keep it un-healed? Rub his palms against the rugged rock everytime it begins to heal??😲
And fight with the sword in his mouth like he held the reins yesterday???😆 That will lead to direct metal toxicity.😆
