Are you guys planning to buddy-read God of Fury? I never read dark romance before. But now I need to read books based on dark and complex protagonists because I want to write a fanfiction on a serial killer's son. Also, I saw a lot of people gave 5 stars to God of Fury. So, I would like to join. But the length of the book is a major problem. It's over 600 pages. And I already selected three queer books and I need to finish another book in June which I started reading in May.

I am planning to read 2 chapters per day, is that pace okay for you guys?

Also, I finally finished Enigma. It was so disappointing and such a drag.

Is it standalone? Will I be able to understand the story as I didn't read other books of the series?

Yes, 2 chapters per day is okay for me. If we read 2 chapters per day we'll be able to finish the book on 20th June. Count me in!

It was a drag! I was tired of the plot going in circles hence sped up and finished it. If I hadn’t done that I’d probably have DNFed. This book wasn’t ideal for pacing out😅

From what I understand it’s part of an interconnected series of standalone books so we might come across characters from the earlier books (idk this author’s style so can’t say for sure) but the story itself won’t be a continuation. So there maybe a few instances where we’re a bit lost (references to characters or events from previous books) but it won’t have a major impact on understanding the book as a whole.

Hinna? Is that right?

Each book in the series focuses on a different couple so it's fine. Even I haven't read the other books in the series yet.

Yep it does say you can read the book as a standalone. The only warning they have given is that it may contain spoilers to the previous books if you haven't read them yet.

Guys, thank you for the information. Even I saw it's a standalone. Still I wanted to confirm.

I really wanted to listen to the audiobook version of You. But it seems You's audiobook version isn't available in India. smiley19 I don't know the reason behind this.

a man is sitting at a table and says i don 't know netflix

This means I won't be able to listen to the book, You in a man's voice. smiley44I'll need to buy the physical copy of the book or download the e-book.

Quotes from the book:

"You're so clean that you're dirty and you murmur your first word to me- hello- when most people would just pass by, but not you, in your loose pink jeans, a pink spun from Charlotte's Web and where did you come from?"

"You look at your basket and I sound like a deranged loner and I look in your basket. Your phone. You don't see it but I do. It's cracked. It's in a yellow case. This means that you only take care of yourself when you're beyond redemption."

"You want me to know your name and I'm no nut job and I swipe your card and the quiet between us is getting louder and why didn't I put on music today and I can't think of anything to say."
