Sara Ali Khan is the daughter of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. She belongs to the Pataudi family, with her grandfather Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi being a former Indian cricket captain and the Nawab of Pataudi. Her grandmother is veteran actor Sharmila Tagore. After her parents separated in 2004, Sara and Ibrahim were raised by their mother.

Ibrahim is Sara’s younger brother. She also has two half siblings, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan, from Saif Ali Khan’s marriage to Kareena Kapoor Khan. Sara completed her schooling in Mumbai and later graduated from Columbia University in New York with a degree in History and Political Science.

She made her acting debut in 2018 with Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, a performance that brought her early recognition. The same year, she appeared in Simmba, which performed well at the box office. Her later projects include Love Aaj Kal, Atrangi Re, Gaslight, and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, with mixed critical and commercial responses.

Most recently, Sara was seen in In Metro… In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu. The film explores modern relationships in an urban setting. Sara plays a young woman dealing with emotional uncertainty, career pressure, and changing ideas of love. Her role adds to the film’s focus on realism and everyday human emotions.
