One would think that KJo has cut off all strings and left Sid to sink or swim from all the posts here. Good for Sid that he's learned to hustle. But KJo is still backing him 100%. He has just turned more of his attention to nurturing Gen 2.0 nepo babies. Of the 3 Gen1.0 Varun is probably the only one who is even a little independent.Alia can. But she's willing to let KJo call the shots.

It has actually worked with Sid. KJO has backed down on Varun and Sid and is more of like a mentor than managing their careers.

Shershah was the movie that Sid got on his own and asked KJo and Sid is also working with Rohit Shetty. You need to hustle and find your niche. You can't be dependent on one or 2 people.

SRK though a huge star did too much with YRF and Dharma, felt he missed on diverse roles because of that.

Even for Ranveer only SLB brings out the best and after Padmavat it is worse. You need to work with different genres and directors to learn and explore your craft.

I mean he is not a Manoj Bajpai or Tabu or Nawaz where they are exceptional actors and a good director brings an even more nuanced performance

Ranveer has worked in several different genres with several different directors. He has done action, comedy, romance, he's played a villain, he has worked in modern and historical films, he has done a biopic. He hasn't only worked with slb, he's worked with rohit shetty, zoya, kabir Khan, maneesh sharma, vikram Aditya motwane, he's going to work with karan johar and South director shankar. Ranveer has worked with established directors and debutant directors, he hasn't played it safe by just working in one genre.

Well, everyone is speculating based on the conjecture that KJo has a lot of influence over Filmfare awards. Shershah was his production where as 83 wasn’t. So it seems rather shocking that he would work against his own movie’s actor.

I think both Sid and Varun are independent. Both have done plenty of non-dharma films relative to their filmography. As it’s already been discussed Sid took Shershah to KJo, he wasn’t handed Shershah by KJo. Also to be fair it’s easier for Varun to be independent when his father is David Dhawan.

She’s been nominated most times for BA popular without winning

I think the biggest mistake was releasing it on OTT. I just wish they had waited a tad bit longer. The box office collections would have been huge. Did Karan not have complete faith in Siddharth and the project?

That must have been it. Because so far none of his other releases have lived up to the expectations people had of them. Even Sooryavanshi although a hit still closed at under 200cr. I mean he waited 2 years to release Liger 🤷🏽‍♀️

But no use in dwelling on it. Besides, releasing it on OTT made it easier for a wider audience. The movie got a lot of praise from military personnel, some high ranking, which I’m thinking probably are not the movie going types. Kamal Hassan tweeted about it which was such a 🤩 moment but I doubt he would have taken the time to go watch it in theaters 😆, unless he’s close to Veshnu Vardhan.
