No. Sex determination is leading to real consequences and leading to sex-skewed ratio in the country. So the government has little choice in the matter.

Major parts of India not only rural but even urban still carry the misconception that daughter is “paraya dhan” and son is the vaaris. It is shown beautifully in DIL Dhadakne do which was on a high class rich family.
There are ofcourse changes compared to before but there is still a long way to go for an equal society.

So when a celeb of Alia’s calibre “publicly” states that she wants only boys it will help push the agenda and cements in peoples minds.

Whatever her personal wishes, she should be a little careful coz even today in paper there was a report on abuse on wife for only giving birth to girls. Sad but this is the reality.

Point was she's not legally responsible for what others do, but it perpetuates this myth of boy children being better. And a lot of mothers use the same excuse that I'm just stating my preferences. Nothing to do with misogyny.

My dad always wanted to have a daughter who he would name Adhya. I guess mum prefers boys while dads prefers girls. But I guess internet always has an opposite and overexaggerated response to everything

I think after a certain age your actions are on you and not on others. Certainly not on a total stranger

Also, Alia also said during gangubai promotions about wanting a daughter who will take her legacy forward. Its just that on internet everything has an opposite and overexaggerated reaction 😆

Tiger Shroff can say he wants to marry a village belle who massages his legs.

KJo can get a white surrogate so his kids look white.

Public doesn't do what they do because of them, but public will also look at these celebs and think if they can do it, why not me?

Misogyny is Misogyny, no matter who it's coming from. Sometimes from Neetu, sometimes from Alia, and a whole lot of Misogyny these days directed at Alia.

People having a special bond with children of the opposite gender is common. I would not say everyone feels the same but many do. So I personally don't think what Alia said was as bad as what Tiger said or What kjo did.

But I guess people do have a habit of using other example so justifying their deeds
