No. It has more to do with the identity of the victims (and the perpetrators for that matter). Hindu lives are pretty much considered expendable. So a lot of the usual suspects suddenly discover "nuance" while discussing the issue. Here's Burkha almost rationalizing their massacre.

I've seen some galaxy brains on Twitter claim that the genocide was a blessing in disguise for Kashmiri Hindus.
I do share your skepticism on Agnihotri. The guy is a hack who is way too crude as a film-maker to do justice to this subject.
