That's also something I wondered... It could be that the old man in the teaser is the character of Sajjan Kumar (79 now and, afaIk, still in prison).

But given that the movie seems to focus on the helping hand Bengalis lent to the Sikhs, it also could be the character of Jyoti Basu which could make Agnihotri's movie like a continuation of Kangana's (where JP was a main character). Jyoti was the CM of West Bengal at the time of the riots and - afaIk - he actively protected the Sikhs living there and condemned the anti-Sikh riots...Bengalis (Hindus and Muslims, btw.) living in the Delhi area helped Sikhs to escape the violence, too.
