Seems like majority reviews here recommend the movie..will try watching tonight..if it's on the line of Tamasha pls warn me ahead so I can skip.

On that note..why do people fell that mental health, depression, anxiety is n urban issue and only urban people will connect with it..not the masses? And if it's true then what's the reason?

Half my family stopped watching 25 mins in. The other half fell asleep and was in shock that another 1.5hrs remained after the first hour post waking up.

The first hour is terribly terribly slow. There is no story tbh, it's just conversation. The bad lighting, the constant waves.... no head nor tails to the characters. The second half is a little better but not by much. It must certainly is no thriller.

This review put me off..not worth sacrificing my sleep?

Because life taxes each class of society differently.

Mostly people who are not privellaged in general sense of the term are brought up and abide by the philosophy of grit your teeth and go through the life. We are not given the space to even pause and think about our own mental and emotional well-being. We just rush through life, working, meeting expectations, fulfilling obligations...and one day just fall sick and drop dead.

I put forth my ideas in very crude way. And I wanted to be a writer when I was young.. imagine that!

Tamasha was on the lines of self-discovery. Gehraiyaan isn't exactly that; it's more of a convoluted movie with a lot of impulsivity, sensitivities and triggers.

@bold That would probably be because the urban audience is stereotyped to be the educated/aware one while the masses are the ones who seemingly care about entertainment in general. And I guess that there's this belief that the more you're educated, the more you're prone to succumbing to mental illnesses because you 'think' more.

Worth a watch I'd say. May or may not be your cup of tea but interesting toh hai. And infidelity is not the main theme I'd say. Like Kapoor and Sons, the heart of the story is about a family.

I am educated, born n brought up in a metro and think a lot..been a special educator too..and still like well made massy movies and dislike boring or disgusting movies.

Found Sooryavanshi entertaining and Pushpa cringy..liked 83 and Super 30 but disliked Tamasha which people found pathbreaking.

Clinical depression/anxiety is a different thing..but anxiety due to personal or professional stress can be managed by support from counselors, family n friends..loneliness is one cause of anxiety..maybe this seems more prevalent in Urban areas.

Is it? No there is something called burn out..we can feel it when we r overworked..and we get weekends off, holidays, etc.

Ya of course we have responsibilities and expectations to fulfill which keep us going..and now I believe that's a good thing..maybe it's designed to be this way so we don't waste time in overthinking and overanalyzing.

Such simple designs to keep our mind occupied and still we find ways to complicate things

The first 20 minutes were okay. But it was downhill afterwards. What the hell were they thinking.

Suddenly it became a thriller in the second half but simply wasn't engaging or convincing enough.

Towards the end of the film, I was like, why am I watching this movie when none of the characters could make me feel for them. I couldn't care at all. So why was I watching this trainwreck!!

SPOILER ALERT

The only good scene in the movie was the scene where that annoying Ananya is pushed into the middle of the sea. Alas! It was only a daydream.
