Even in Indonesia, BW is extremely popular. I mean, it’s obvious with all the song remakes they’re blessing my youtube timeline with 🤣

@bold.. that's not true. I grew up Oman- UAE and BW movies are watched there too - more so than HW movies. I have seen more crazed fans that are Omanis, Emiratis and people from other gulf countries.

How is watching a movie on a TV channel any different than watching it on OTT platform, both can be tracked, albeit with differing accuracy ?

People watching old movies of older actors will not give them any traction unless these actors are releasing new movies, be it OTT or in Cinemas. There must be more than a few movies from 90s that are popular on OTT platforms but not all the stars of those movies who have not been featured in movies for a long time are in demand , just because their movies are being discovered on OTT platforms.

That is true but that percentage of fanbase still pales in comparison to Indian percentage of their fanbase, that is why Indian BO is more important to Bollywood stars than non-Indian BO, the same applies to all film industries.

Nahi maan na toh mat maano.

Dude have you seen the crowd in these countries when SRK or any other BW actors performs?

These platforms are global.. so is this research and are you saying that Indians are more than the entire population of rest of the world?😆

Yes, according to you big entertainment companies globally are fools spending their bucks on firms that do market research for them 😆

I'm screaming. Why did she just get up and stare into the camera like that? 🤣 I was waiting for her eyes to turn all white like in the movies when someone is possessed

I don't even know what that is. 🤪And for a 60 year old actress, Neena Gupta *is* in demand which is why she keeps signing one movie after another and recently even released a book. Obviously she can't be compared to Kiara Advani but for her age and space, she is doing really well.

If the same applies to US actors, why are you so hurt about Indians dominating the list that you have to be dismissive about it? Hell, they have an advantage because they create content in English which is a universal language. BW movies are watched in a lot of places outside India especially when they're available for free on streaming. That's why streamers like Netflix make overall deals with people like KJo and SRK because their content sells.

There was a recent interview with the Neflix CEO that Haseen Dilruba was in the Top 10 in 20+ countries and that's starring someone like Taapsee. You don't need to constantly put down and be dismissive about Indian movies and actors. It doesn't matter whether or not some white Karen in Bumblef*ck, Kansas is watching BW actors or not.

And if your favorite isn't there, it's okay, really. Maybe next time. It shouldn't be this upsetting for you.

You are the one who wrote long winding paragraphs to my 4 line pithy post and I did not even quote you. It is obvious my post upset you. Sorry about that.

You are only confirming what I have already said.

Neena Gupta is not starring in new movies because she produced and starred in some great shows 20-30 years back but because she has constantly featured in new movies.

What applies to TV and movies also applies to TV and movies on internet, that is OTT.

Anyway, let me be the first to welcome you to the forums Tapsee. Hope you have a great stay. Hotchoco is a nice id. In case you are not Tapsee please don't get upset and write another long winding post.

Except not. If other actors' older movies were in demand, they would have shown up on a list like this. They all have lots of old movies on Amazon, Netflix and Disney Hotstar. Almost everyone else on the list had content released this year, which is what is being watched. Akshay had Laxmi directly released to Disney Hotstar this year itself. I guess it was a disaster. No wonder nobody bought Bell Bottom. This is why this kind of research is done.

This is what happens when actors prioritize crappy disposable movies. They come and make a blip on the radar for a week or two in theaters and then they're mostly forgotten about. Nobody is watching those films in large numbers later. SRK also has a much bigger fan base outside India than people like Akshay or Ajay or whoever which would add a lot more viewers for his content worldwide.

Dozens of media companies, streamers and talent agencies pay this company for their insights. They are not fools to be doing that. Netflix had literally made an ad with the tagline being "Netflix - The Home of Shah Rukh Khan"

Anyway, explaining something properly to you as pointless because now you have a problem with long posts. 🤣
