I didn't find this silly because of the movie is problematic, my issue is that its mediocre at best. You see HW making movies like Forrest Gump, Jumanji etc at that time and we were making DDLJ. By all means it was entertaining then but we are still celebrating this.

Look at the other statues there, we are hardly making movies to match up with them(even 90s wali HW movies we can hardly compete). Are we sure this is what we want as the representation of Indian film industry? Par sahi hai, keep celebrating mediocrity and then crib k why aren't there good enough movies in BW and why we are stereotyped by others.

We literally have so many good movies but nope let’s only acknowledge that shallow af ddlj

All statues of white characters or animals, first minority and that too not black? Why? Is there not one black character in popular culture worthy of a statue?

Forrest Gump and Jumanji are by no means masterpieces but still we hardly have movies to compete with them and they were made in the 90s. Just comparing the level.
