KKHH mein Chalo so called good guy should have gotten the girl

DDLJ mein Raj is a perv

But DTPH mein Kia tha?

There's a problem in every movie

The concept of change and journey of character doesn't exist here

Father was regressive and dominating but he changed in the climax and asked Simran to be with Raj

Movie didn’t promote his thinking unlike HDDCS, where Aish's character leaves her love for her husband proving her father right

Adults loved DDLJ i guess

actually i hated DDLJ because it was regressive - a man working in london wants to marry his educated daughter to a villager who does that?

KKHH was another nonsense movie - kajol dressed in pant and shirt and short hair is not wife material, kajol in saree and long hairs is marriage material what misogynistic nonsense

Than came that horrible K3G men always crying women too crying but not as worst as men. OK adopted son if hes obedient is son but if he wants to marry his choice becomes bad and not own blood? father dies two daughters need boy friends protection? what nonsense? So f father did not die SRK had come to say i cannot marry you as dad said no???? So died died so lover married girl????

So i hate all three movies, ok all three i saw on TV only few years later or in cable later

I think better movies of 90s were satya, damini, shool, kamoshi, bombay, gupt, machis etc they had good story and can be watched many times without getting bored

than there are commercial ones like ghatak, ghayal, krantiveer, soldier, andaz apna apna, jo jeeta woh sikandar etc that were good commerical ones

I think i would prefer manoj bajpee's statue in london than a SRK going by content and acting skills or a director like mani ratnam or santoshi to karan johar/aditya chopra

Sorry nobody will visit Leicester to see a Manoj Vajpayee statue.

Ghatak, ghayal, krantiveer really? 🤣Those cheap ott action movies? Only JJWS was good but not iconic like DDLJ to get a statue.

Regardless of which movie the statue represents, I’m just cheering that a bronze statue of SRK will be made. OOOOOFT the satisfaction is real! 🥳

DDLJ was truly pathbreaking cinema. It opened new markets for Indian cinema. It plays major role in making Bollywood popular. Leicester is paying tribute because it was shot there and helped in tourism.

Sorry you mention all forgotten movies except JJWS and AAA. I don't think the two deserve statue over DDLJ

People watching a 90s movie and cribbing today....yes it was problematic but that was 90s....just disown that movie....even I don't like it.....but it doesn't change the fact that Raj-Simran are the most iconic characters of BW.....

Go and watch some movies done by yesteryear stars and you will puke...main tumhri daasi janam ki pyaasi.....yeah right.....movies mirror what happens at that time.....Movies are not supposed to lecture u on ethics and morality...they are also about entertainment......DDLJ despite its glaring flaws had a very endearing message....u don't run away and be selfish and not care about ur families...you try to make an effort to convince them...that message trumped everything......3 Idiots despite its rape jokes carried a huge message..

May be 50 years down the road...that generation will find our morals and ethics lousy....maybe they will say ....to hell with trying to convince parents before I get married...its my life......different times...different standards......Do we hear rape jokes in the movies any more....is stalking a girl in current movies acceptable....is ladki ki naa mein haan acceptable now?? Back then it was.....so that is what BW showed....its not now and most of the BW movies are not showing except may be a rare Kabir Singh here or there.

Main tumhatri dasi is pukeworthy but it's still not as disgusting as sexual harrassment.

And sexual harassment was wrong throughout the ages, 20's, 30's, 40's, 60', 90's....

Ghayal and Ghatak are not cheap or forgotten movies. They are still loved by audience. This forum doesn't know the awesomeness of Sunny Deol.

I mean.. understandable why they are doing it so I have zero problems with it. Atleast Leicester square can afford to have it, not like it's peeps are starving for food, and they are wasting money in making these statues, y'know 🤷😆

Anyway, DDLJ is plenty problematic ( that entire scaring Simran about what happened the night before is so regressive it still boils my blood. It borders on rape culture and the idea of honor in a woman's virginity used comically by a male) but there's no denying what it has done for Bollywood as an industry globally. It was that movie that not only represented the already established desi NRI community in mainstream Hindi cinema for the first time but also the story of 1st gen common Indians finally making the dream of European trip and settling there real. Its impact cannot be ignored. But it's problems can't be either.

To be honest, no widespread pop cultural phenomenon in the 90s is unproblematic if you see it through the glasses of today. Hopefully people can it as a folly of the past and not partake in its regressive concepts.

If I go according to this forum I can’t enjoy a single movie😆 Bollywood forum is more negative than kagri 🤣 There is both good and bad side to everything, it’s up to you how you see it( a movie which was made 25yrs ago, how can you relate it with today’s ethics)

Congratulations to Sharukh, Kajol and the entire team of DDLJ 😁 One of the most loved movies of all time which also gained international recognition. Love from a die hard fan ❤️
