Anurag Kashyap's interview.

https://youtu.be/rKY4O6bAXd8

He makes some very interesting and valid points about the debate that's going on.

Also, shares his experience with Sushant. I am interested to hear what people have to say about Sushant dropping Hasee to Phasee to do a YRF film and ignoring Anurag's calls once Dhoni became a hit 🤓

That’s not very inclusive of him

Sushant was like any other actor trying to make it big. He wanted to work with YRF and Dharma and ignored people like Anurag Kashyap when he became successful. Nothing wrong in that. That's how it goes.

Every industry works on networking and connections. Abhishek Kapoor asked his cousin Ekta Kapoor to recommend a TV actor for his movie and that's how Sushant got Kai Po Che.

Everyone goes through career highs and lows. It's normal. Sushant had his own personal issues that led to his suicide. Hopefully we can all move on soon.

Exactly!! Everyone gets in through some recommendation, everyone has flops and hits, everyone has gossip and blinds written about them, everyone has films which gets shelved after announcements etc.

Everyone has a choice and has the right to exercise that choice to do what they think is in their best interest. There is nothing wrong in what Sushant did.

However, when other people (read "insiders" ) exercise their choice of choosing to work with one actor or another, they are called "murderers"

I hope people see some sense now.

I think this is interesting. it is only natural that SSR would want to do a YRF or Dharma film. For outsiders it's like the "final marker" of having made it. I remember Juhi Chawla saying once that working with Yash Chopra for any new comer is like a badge of honour. Im sure it was the same for SSR who was an ambitious guy. The thing was, he wanted to be a star- not the next Naseer or Irfan but the next SRK or Hrithik. And he was fast becoming it too because he was so charming- but there is a darker side to being an A lister- the bad press, the vindictive PR of rivals, deals gone awry, fall outs like with Adi Chopra. And you have to be almost superhuman and emotionally switched off not to crack.

The thing that strikes me about SSR was that he was a nice, sensitive guy - which was good because that made him a very good actor- but he wouldve needed someone real and supportive by his side- I dont mean necessarily as a partner but a friend, a support system, anyone to just ground him in such a fickle world. Ankita seemed to be that but after her, he just seemed lost and alone.

If you look at all successful outsiders, they have all had a solid support system in Mumbai with them- Ayushman had Tahira, AB Sr actually had his parents with him and SRK had Gauri.

Who did SSR have by the end? Kriti and Rhea seemed to be in the same boat as him- outsiders trying to find a foothold and younger than him to boot. Can you imagine dealing with the MeToo allegations all by himself? Just tragic and such a loss of a true gem!

False. Ekta Kapoor never recommended him. Infact was pissed at him for leaving PVR.

He was auditioned by Chhabra. Chhabra also added he was sent to audition by Bhansali's associate Shobha Sant. Infact he and RKR went through many round of auditions and then got through. Ayushmann had also auditioned for RKR 's part but din't crack it.

This was a good watch . TFS.

SSR wasn’t without shortcomings obviously. Yrf is obviously the most coveted production for anyone to want to work with. (Shraddha still gives out feelers in interviews where she brings up YRF) Every industry has few companies that people want to work with and in BW it’s YRF, i guess.

He needed a good mentor and a support system since he seemed to have been dealing with some internal conflict . I think his self esteem got hit when he couldn’t understand the whys of the things being written about him. But if he had a good PR then we would have heard about his good deeds more. Did he even have one?

How can you be so sure that this man anurag kashyap is saying the truth about sushant when he is no more alive to defend himself ... Kashyap seems to be biased against sushant and wants to please bwood bigwigs ... This man seems to have the agenda of covering up of bwood dirty kaands by changing the narrative behind ssr death..

And no ...Abhishek kapoor didn't asked ekta to suggest any tv actor ... In Fact it is mukesh chabbra (casting director) who casted all the three lead mens in the movie .. Back then Mukesh himself confirmed this in some of his interview .. In this way , SSR got this role .. and he was always grateful to mukesh...

And only after finalising SSR in Ishan role, Abhishek casually asked ekta about SSR feedback ... Initially Ekta was disappointed with SSR for leaving the show midway and took a jib at him saying "jo tv chod dete hai unko tv chod deta hai " in some of the event related to press conference/interview of pavitra rishta ... But she gave her honest feedback about SSR to abishek ....This fact is also mentioned by Abhishek or ekta themselves in their interview back then ... I was following SSR since PR and Kis desh days and have been always silent member of IF forums... That's why I know ..

So plz check the facts before writing ...

Thank you. People are now finding way to bring SSR down. Ekta Kapoor was angry that he is leaving the show as they show was very successful and manav was loved by all. Let’s never supported him. She didn’t even gave him Half girlfriend. If an actor does not take your call, sort it out with him and don’t bring it up after his death.
