It’s not that they didn’t know who he was. They were being sarcastic trying to undercut his success because they can’t stand some small town boy with no filmy background share the limelight.

Even I didnt watched his Serial and besides Dhoni I watched only chichore but what I know about him that he was intellectual,wanted to do something miraculous in quantum physics and astronomy. I found him very compassionate when I saw his one picture with his Bike which he bought from the tution money. I know some students from DTE,they told me about excitement amongst the students when he visited the campus. He delivered lecture at IIT Mumbai...Exemplary for any bollywood actor.

Go to twitter. Almost all tv serials have teenage fandoms. Fans ranging from age 13- 19 are more. They are the ones doing trends and stuff. Word of mouth spreads and kids g9 ajd watch old shows.

So many newbie failed Bollywood actors come and go. We forget them. But we can never forget Tulsi, Parvati, Mihir etc. You cannot forget them. They run for years.

There’s a sense of nostalgia that you will remember these forever. As for movies, you seldom remember them. There are many times I end up rewatching some movies on TV because I couldn’t remember watching them. My grandma does it all the time lol.

Only a fool would think that Tv actors aren’t popular. Why are they promoting their stupid movies on TV then?

Hina Khan recently pointed out the discriminatory behaviour of the film fraternity towards TV actors, they treat you like trash.

Do you remember jitesh pillai's rude remark on hina's cannes debut. That is self explanatory . They all look down upon tv actors as if they're some untouchables.

Well, he featured in a super hit Balaji TV serial. I would find it hard to believe he was not a household name. Bollywood insiders are lucky ordinary TV watching audience is not aware of the shitty things Bollywood does, otherwise their empires built on fake PR and superficiality would be gone.

There's a huge difference between knowing a TV character and the actor behind it. A lot of people would not even know the real name of the actor behind the character.

That's a big reason for why TV stardom rarely translates to movie stardom. A lot of people are only interested in the character and won't watch the actor's other work. They also get used to watching them for free so they won't pay to watch them in a theater.

Sushant was able to escape that fate but in general knowing a TV serial character is very different from knowing the actor.

Rich elite Bandra type people don't watch Indian TV. They would consider it downmarket so it's perfectly believable that they didn't really know him. Sonam isn't really the one I blame for that but Karan deserves some flak for including him in the rapid fires when he knew Sushant would get trashed and placed last every single time. That was a set-up and they could have just left him out. Sonam herself has also gotten trashed in those rapid fires as so many people place her last in acting (along with Kat) and put her last in their sexy lists too.

But KwK was watched by the audience for this bitchiness in the first place. That was the only reason for this show's existence. People loved to see the tea come out and guess who likes who, who hates who, etc. Now the same audience is acting holier than thou.

The adulation was never gonna be enough. Cause people are already fighting in how famous he was.
