Getting angry over celebs for not knowing who Sushant was not fair

Sushant was not a household name. Especially before Dhoni biopic. I'm a movie freak who used to go the theater once in every two weeks yet I'm not familiar with sushant. Tbh I wasn't even aware that sushant was in chichore until it got released. I thought shraddha was the main lead.

So it's understandable that celebs who don't even watch their own movies were not aware of sushant in his debut years.

Thats the thing he wasnt and I think thats what he wanted. Maybe he would have gotten it one day who knows.

Well, he featured in a super hit Balaji TV serial. I would find it hard to believe he was not a household name. Bollywood insiders are lucky ordinary TV watching audience is not aware of the shitty things Bollywood does, otherwise their empires built on fake PR and superficiality would be gone.

I never watched any of his films or tv show. I don’t watch that many Bollywood movies. But I still know who he was.

It’s not that they didn’t know who he was. They were being sarcastic trying to undercut his success because they can’t stand some small town boy with no filmy background share the limelight.

The outrage is not that they did not know him, if many celebs would have given simple messages, it would have been okay with people actually .

Sushant was an outsider, who made it on his own without a godfather , an intellectual, educated person.

A young person who could have achieved and done so much has gone too soon and that is a tragedy.

I myself have followed him on insta, as I knew him to be a good actor but his posts on physics and philosophy were awesome

The backslash started when celebs like KJo, Sonam et al wrote long posts about Sushant, where before they either mocked , ignored or made fun and of him.

In this digital age everything is recorded so all their past mocking have come out and people are calling them out.

Mental health and nepotism which was already being discussed is out on full flow now.

Also because of the lockdown, people also are guilty and angry that here was a self made guy who gave consistent hits but did not get his due, and did not take things too seriously.

His death pushed everything to the forefront.

Hope atleast now it does not become a 2 day story and the film industry is cleaned up and given prominence to acting, stories, music than just the lifestyle, papz and pr shoved down our throats

Even my sister who doesn't exclusively watch Bollywood movies knows very well who Sushant Singh Rajput is. The fact here is that, those insiders who made a mockery on Sushant telling that they didn't know who Sushant was did so on purpose. And if I go by your statement that Sushant was not a household name like you are claiming, then putting his name in KWK every now and then was nothing but a crime done by Kjo.

But hey are his peers and these r ppl who are so self obsessed that they keep track on every compettition there is to them.I wont blv they didnt know his name atleast

He was Manav from pavitra rishta.... Everyone and their mother knew who he was. Hell, KJOs own mom used to watch that show religiously.

And issue isn't that other "stars" didn't know him...... The issue is that he was bullied and went through character assassination time and again.

Anecdotal but anyway: My mom was visibly upset over his death. I did not see her upset over Rishi kapoor or Irrfan. She has not even seen his movies because most of his movies are youth oriented. She only remembers Pavitra Rishta. Her first thought was maybe he got involved in stupid things and made some mistakes, that is why he decided to end his life. I had to say I don't think so. I tried to say it could be because of industry pressures and nepotism. I did not push the idea too much because I don't know myself. I think she was unconvinced. I don't know how much this can be generalized but it is what it is.
