TV audiences like for the dramas are different then movies audiences. The two (dramas on TV and movies) have different appeals and demographics. Right now there is a pretty strong grip of Nepotism in the film industry with just a few outsider with more Nepo young people coming soon so I would say it's harder then ever for a outsider TV star to be given a chance. TV there are more outsiders currently. Also feel like the TV actors who venture to films aren't having their films promoted as good or as much as the movie actors.

He would but would having better screen presence than Arjun and Sid would be enough to hit big in Bollywood and sustain the popularity.

Ayushmann played a supporting role too, and you are just proving my point. I said these people started on tv and even though they weren't famous on tv, they could make it in BW because of their talent. SSR was famous but he had talent. A lot of the people playing lead roles on tv become famous just because they are part of a popular ship. They can't actually act. They just need to look a certain way. What I was saying is that popularity means nothing in BW if you can't crack auditions. And all of you are replying to me and saying "these guys were not famous". Arre, that was the whole point of my original post, did you not read it? That it's not about them being tv actors or not, it's about talent. And popularity on tv is no measure of talent.

btw Mrunal and Vikrant have both played lead roles. Vikrant has won jury awards too, and I remember Naseeruddin Shah had cast him in his telefilm based on his tv performance. He has always been known as one of the best actors on tv. But he wasn't the lead on a popular teen soap or part of a famous "jodi" which is what you need to become tv star famous. Mrunal's show as a lead wasn't very successful but she was praised for her acting too. Ayushmann was very popular as a VJ but didn't make an impact on tv soaps. SSR is an exception because he was famous, but he was ALSO very critically acclaimed on tv. He was always recognized for his acting skills, and I am not talking about winning popular awards that are fan-voted. therefore my point was that tv fame is irrelevant, what you need is talent.

I don't understand what you are disagreeing with? this is literally exactly what I said, that Vikrant and Mrunal were never "big" on tv but had the talent. And Ayushmann has done tv too. He has talked about how he could not get the lead on a tv soap and had to play the brother.

I wasn't disagreeing. I just wanted to add to it that Ayushmaan showed promise even on his earlier days.

As if Bollywood actors actresses are very talented. At least, TV actors actresses are more talented than some current nepo kids like Sonam, Alia, Sara, Arjun, Tiger, Jhanvi, Ananya, Shradda, etc. Even many outsiders kept getting work without having lot of talents. If Ash, Kat, Jacqueline and Sidharth can get work in Bollywood without knowing any acting, then what is the problem with TV actors actresses?

your none of fav tv actor got any movies? They have inside connection, that's why they keep getting movies despite failures and terrible acting. Problem is that, either be extra ordinary with acting and talent, or just start building bollywood connection.

If none of this works , wait until your favourite tv actor reborn in some high class, well named family so he can be pushed as nepo kid as well as it'ill relevant to discuss on bwf. Untill than, I don't think your hard work of defending is gonna do anything. It doesnt matter, how much you cry, how many times you compare like this, It's gonna stay that way.

He's a perfect package of huge talent and really really classic good looks - tall , fair , handsome , manly , adorable dimpled smile , sparkling screen presence and great charisma .

And though I've seen him for years in DKDM , I couldn't even think of him as any one other than Vedant Rathod , from the get go .

With talent and looks like his , if Bollywood was even quarter of a decent place , he'd be flooding with great movie offers in lead roles right now, but don't worry he is getting nothing .

Because he's a Raina , not a "Kapoor" , "Kapur" or "Bhatt" or "Shroff" or "Shetty."

I feel ashamed of Bollywood's current state of affairs , it's now nothing but a cesspool . It's probably the most darkest , ugliest ( literally ! ) , most talentless that Bollywood has ever been !

I agree. Mohit is such a talented actor and has good screen presence. Even with the small part he played in Uri, he left an impression. You must watch 21 Sarfarosh, he did an incredible job but I know he won't get the opportunities like an Arjun Kapoor or an Abhishek Bachchan or a Sonakshi Sinha et al who are still getting movies in spite of a horrible Carter/acting graph.

But then he actually started his career on big screen and when couldn't make any impression, he switched to TV and the rest is history.

I disagree with reasons like getting over exposed.... So In that case sushant Singh rajput was also overexposed as manav in Pavitra rista. That show was a big hit.

It's all about choosing the right scripts within the limited opportunities available to u.

Insiders like Abhishek bachan alia bhat these people will get opportunities no matter how many flops they deliver.... Outsiders will have to go through casting couch to keep getting opportunities ....

For anyone to make it big in bollywood is tough job. At least tv stars get few opportunities due to the fame they received on TV.

I feel the main reason is tv actors do not get the kind of exposure a BW kids get..or maybe even a newcomer might get. Also its a fact that Tv actors are looked down upon by BW most of the times.
