Exactly also Ayushmaan was pretty entertaining even in the Bollywood parodies he used to do in his MTV Vj days.

Whether he became famous or no its altogether another thing but the point is he did a TV. Infact i first saw him on TV.... That show came on zee tv or zee smile.... He was one of leads slightly grey character.... If u know about balika vadhu.... an actress played character of gehna.... She was female lead.. it was her debut show.... another male actor was tv actress sara s khan ex... But dont know there is not much info about that show on net When i saw him in vicky donor.... i was like ye movie star ban gaya....

Sushant singh rajput also became huge bollywood star.... He was very famous as manav in Pavitra rista. SRK also is an example.... I heard SRK s show was also famous.

Different reasons are there. Popular TV actors get over-exposed due to acting for years in one show. Some even get a permanent tag of the character if it became popular. Also acting on television and movies are not the same. TV actors don't put much effort in their expressions as heavy background music is used to show their emotions. That flaw comes out in movies where they are completely exposed as wooden. TV actresses on the other hand are asked to do overacting for melodrama, which is again not liked by movie audience. And of course there is need of connections in movie industry, which the TV actors don't have, the reason they agreed to do television in first place.

I agree to most of the points here but wanna add one more...tv actors are given B Grade Hate Story type movies, so those will ofc not do well

Either that or supporting roles or movies with innovative and good scripts but no budget for promotion

Exceptions are there- Ayushman, Vikrant, SRK and in females Vidya...the only one I can think of other than her from the young gen is Tara

Imo most tv actors and actresses are gorgeous and the best part is they are all different looking, not having the same generic facial features as today's Bollywood actors...even if they are bad actors atleast they are lookers toh eyes ko kuch acha dekhne milta hai 😍🤣

I will tell you about a circus story .

Once there was a big famous circus where many "freaks" used to give performance and in whichever town they'd go , the show would be houseful. Every town they went people were very curious about this group of strange people and horde in to see them perform . But the group , though given a luxurious life style and good salary were never allowed to go out in the main town during the tour.

One day , with out informing the manager , the group decided to went out to a diner , for an outing . Soon word spread and the diner was packed with town people . They took their autographs , clicked pictures with them and shook their hands .

But next day , for the first time , their show didn't sell out even half ! No body , it seemed , wanted to waste their money on watching them because they've already seen them up , close and personal in their normal looks . As a result , the curiosity , the mystery around them had finished and so did the frenzy surrounding them .

The key word - distance with common mass.

This is where tv actors lack. We see them every day from our home tv for years . Wo appeal , wo mystery - we get used to it . Human beings are creatures that get bored really easily . Some times , being a popular actor on tv is a curse for the bolly career of the actor / actress , because we still relate to them from their well known tv characters . I was watching KGF at the nearby multiplex and when Mouni appeared for the Gali gali song , people were cheering and applauding her as the "Naagin " !! Whereas it's true that the massive success of the original Naagin franchise paved path in a big way for Mouni's bollywood career , it is also what is pulling her back.

Bollywood actors are overrated af , not the tv actors. Bollywood actors are the talentless ugly lot , not the tv ones. Especially the current lot.

Due to extreme nepotism and sugar daddysm , only nepo kids and / or their bed partners get good , shiny roles , that too served in a platter .Whereas tv actors get shit . Nothing . Zilch. They struggle for years yet don't get any good roles , let alone lead roles , just because they don't have the so-and-so in their families and they don't have a certain surname. If they get any roles , then that are of B_grade sleazy horror movie or very low budget small chindi movies that often don't release , let alone getting any good promotion or good number of screens .

I loved Raazi as a movie . Alia was good in it . But this simple fact can not be denied that this strong author backed greatly written role could've been easily portrayed and in all probability , with greater emotional range and layers of expressions by any of the good actresses of ITV. But of course , they won't even get a chance !

Pad kya kare ghar ki murgi daal barabar.

It has absolutely nothing got to do with talent . In our Bengali movie industry , which we fondly call as tollywood , all the stalwart actors and actresses , and most of the popular lead hero and heroines have came from Television background only . In fact , it's like a ladder system here . First , prove your mettle on tv screen or theater and from there only you can get entry in movie industry . That's the reason , though we lack in budget severely , we don't lack in talent , like the current cringeworthy lot of Bollywood. All the actors here in Tollywood are very very talented and have proved themselves first .

Today I was watching Kaafir and Mohit Raina was just... I've no words to do his performance justice but terrific probably comes close to it ! He's a perfect package of huge talent and really really classic good looks - tall , fair , handsome , manly , adorable dimpled smile , sparkling screen presence and great charisma .

And though I've seen him for years in DKDM , I couldn't even think of him as any one other than Vedant Rathod , from the get go .

With talent and looks like his , if Bollywood was even quarter of a decent place , he'd be flooding with great movie offers in lead roles right now, but don't worry he is getting nothing .

Because he's a Raina , not a "Kapoor" , "Kapur" or "Bhatt" or "Shroff" or "Shetty."

I feel ashamed of Bollywood's current state of affairs , it's now nothing but a cesspool . It's probably the most darkest , ugliest ( literally ! ) , most talentless that Bollywood has ever been !
