She just smoked once on the occasion of celebrating her bday together with her family. Diwali pollution is something else.

Secular Asthma...🤣🤣..this is hilarious...

But on a serious note....smokers are harming just themselves...unless they are smoking in a public and as far as I know....public smoking is prohibited in most countries...

Diwali is a whole another ball game...millions of people burning crackers...not just on the day of Diwali but several days before and after Diwali..the amount of pollution it creates in unbelievable...and everybody should speak against it....we cannot afford that kind of pollution...the pollution from petrol/diesel/factories etc seems unavoidable at the moment but burning crackers can be avoided..

There is no reason why someone who smokes can't speak against pollution created during Diwali...

That is because India has a high population density. (Not because of Diwali). Pollution created by an Indian citizen is much less than the pollution created by an US citizen.

yes, the issues are there, all of them.......do we need to reform........yes we do........ can we celebrate diwali without crackers......of course we can........I and my family has been doing it since past decade........ but does that mean diwali fire crackers are the only one causing the problem..........no......so dont make it look like an issue na.........take other measures......start car-pooling, use public transport.....plant more trees and the cracker will not even seem like a problem anymore........

and this trend is visible in every Hindu festival........ every festival some or the other fake woke celeb wake up to post something negative to make the festival negative for some people.........every diwali i see the message saying think of the dog, the crackers will hurt their ears........ should we care for the dogs.......of course we should.......but then the crackers which are burst on new year, or when India wins a cricket match, equally hurt the dogs........ the entire world burst crackers during new year.....do they not have dogs.........of course they do...........shouldn't the message be circulated that time too..........

why dont these celebs speak for other festivals ? Does other festival not hurt the society at all........no, that's not true.......its just become cool to target hindu festivals............. then they do so, even when they are blatantly lying, as pointed out by @ronaldo_fan.......

She was playing holi on an American talk show so I’m sure she has no agenda against hindu festivals. Infact her American costars celebrated Diwali on set with her. Modi included her in his tweets, went to her wedding which I’m sure he wouldn’t do, if he knew PC was against hinduism.

But I get your point of agenda, since I have seen that happen on twitter but I don’t think it applies here.

I have seen asthma patients smoke. It could be a cigarette, maybe she could be smoking up. It could be occasional like many people do it when they are drinking or stress or anxiety.

But in the end it all comes down to her own choice. She can talk about encouraging the use of inhalers which is something different from her choice to smoke.

There are not many celebrities who have asthma or the ones who don’t smoke. So health products don’t have many options of perfect celebrities to promote their products. So we have to get used to fact that celebrities aren’t perfect people as well and they can promote products for the good of the people, since they have so many followers.

For a real Asthma patient smoking can be dangerous, traumatic, even fatal. To make a mockery of a disease, lie about it without caring to realise seriousness of it is highest level hypocrisy. Not to forget, people should stop preaching others how to celebrate their/our festivals. Had it been preaching about gambling during Diwali that was another matter. Though again it's a personal way/choice. Unless it's a real vice. Simply because we can tolerate and don't question doesn't mean only one religion's festivals are targetted.

Priyanka married Nick Jonas who is not a Hindu...a white and an American...according to the Hindu rituals...haldi..saat phere, sindoor and all...and also had the fun parts like sangeet and mehndi...it was there out for the whole world to see..covered extensively by the global press...they started with a pooja at her home...the groom and his family dressed Indian and followed the rituals of a Hindu wedding.....in what way does she have an agenda against Hinduism or Hindus?....if anything she promoted Hinduism and people came to know about how fun, lively and elaborate our Hindu weddings and culture is...she seems to be very proud of being a Hindu and flaunted it after her wedding...It is ridiculous to call such a person against Hinduism.....

I myself am a staunch Hindu....but one big part of Hinduism is that it teaches us a way of life....it is more than a religion for us....I know that I can criticize Hinduism and highlight its not so good aspects because my religion has taught me not to be blind and to be critical....I am tolerant because I am a Hindu...I can go to a Masjid, a church, a gurudwara and still be a staunch Hindu...

Religion should never be followed blindly..but in the present context..if there are things that need a little tweaking..its OK to do it...instead of throwing a fit over it.....just my 2 cents...
