Some people here have actually done their research but some other people do need to do their research before claiming that "Ghee is beneficial."
Ghee is mostly just saturated fat, which are harmful. So yeah Ghee is just useless and you can easily do away with it and take some other better fat source. Only Ayurveda calls it beneficial not anyone else.
And what Shilpa has claimed is and was total BS, Rajma Chawal and Ghee doesn't aid weight loss anyone can tell you that. I've never heard anyone say that they lost 32kgs by eating Rajma Chawal and Ghee 😂😂😂 She was just fooling people that's it even Kareena has admitted that she went under a strict diet and exercise regime to get back into shape after her pregnancy.
Nutrition Facts
One tablespoon of ghee has approximately 135 calories, all of which come from fat. That small amount of ghee has 15 grams of total fat and 9 grams of saturated fat, or 45 percent of the recommended daily value. A tablespoon of ghee also has 45 milligrams of cholesterol, or 15 percent of the daily value.
Benefits
"There are no scientific studies definitively linking ghee to specific health benefits, but some ayurveda practitioners believe that it is better for the body than plain butter. According to Dr. Vasant Lad, director of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico, ghee can promote flexibility and act as a lubricant for connective tissues in the body. Instead of relying on ghee as a singular remedy or health food, however, it's safest to meet all dietary needs by eating a wide variety of nutritious foods. For personalized nutrition advice, speak with your doctor or a registered dietitian."
Sorry, but the whole base of your research is wrong.... but then you are contradicting your own statement, by mentioning the last line....

Can butter really be good for you? No, it’s not just a foodie’s wishful thinking. A purified form of butter called ghee has been a staple of both Indian cuisine and Ayurvedic medicine since ancient times. Today, professional chefs with a mind for health and savvy consumers have discovered its rich, nutty flavor along with its many health benefits.
Ghee is sometimes referred to as clarified butter, but it actually goes a step beyond. Clarified butter is made by heating unsalted butter until the milk solids and water rise to the top, where they are skimmed off. Ghee results from cooking the butter for a longer period of time and straining out nearly all the milk solids and water, leaving pure butterfat behind.
Whether it’s plain or flavored with herbs and spices, ghee can be used in nearly every application that calls for butter, as an oil for stir-frying and sautéing or drizzled over vegetables and popcorn. In addition to its tasty flavor and versatility, here are some of the surprising benefits you can enjoy from cooking with ghee.
Ghee is free of potentially unhealthy additives, preservatives and trans fats. Thanks to its pure form and low moisture content, ghee is shelf-stable and can stay fresh for up to a year without refrigeration. While it's not an application for the general public, some families in India have aged ghee that has lasted more than 100 years.
At high temperatures, most oils break down into unstable elements known as free radicals. Excessive amounts of free radicals in the body can result in cell damage, including the development of cancer. Ghee has a smoking point of nearly 500°F, so it retains its structural integrity under the high heat used for frying and other preparation methods.
3. Ghee is a rich source of antioxidants.
Antioxidants act as “scavengers” in the body, seeking out and neutralizing free radicals to prevent cell and tissue damage that can lead to disease. Ghee contains vitamin E, one of the most powerful antioxidants found in food.
When ghee is made from butter derived from grass-fed cows, it contains stores of conjugated linoleic acid. CLA has been found to combat cancer as well as cardiovascular disease. Some studies have also suggested a link between CLA and weight loss.
Ghee isn’t used just for cooking. It has long been used by Indian women as a topical moisturizer to relieve dry complexions. Application on the scalp also fights dryness and encourages the growth of thick, lustrous hair.
Ayurvedic medicine has regularly used ghee to treat burns and swelling. It contains large quantities of butyrate, a fatty acid that has been linked to an immune system response that soothes inflammation. The substance also has anti-viral properties and contributes to a healthy digestive system by helping heal and repair the stomach lining. This can be particularly valuable for individuals with intestinal disorders like Crohn’s disease.
While ghee has a high concentration of fat, it’s high in monounsaturated Omega-3s. These are the same fatty acids found in foods like salmon that have been discovered to promote a healthy heart and cardiovascular system. A study conducted on men in a rural area of India found that those who consumed larger quantities of ghee had a lower incidence of coronary heart disease and reduced levels of serum cholesterol.
Since ghee is formed by removing milk solids, it contains only trace amounts of milk sugars (lactose) and proteins (casein), making it suitable for most people with dairy allergies. Ghee also fits into the popular Paleo diet, which is based on the types of foods eaten by early humans and excludes dairy products.
Ghee contains plentiful amounts of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. These nutrients are essential to a wide range of body functions from the brain to the immune system. In addition, ghee aids in the body’s absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and minerals from other foods.

if you still want to avoid all these benefits and compare it to calories and stuff, then that is really sad......
I wish all us desi's would realize how food and health industry is misleading us, and telling us wrong things about our own culture that we knew always but didnt have the confidence to maintain it....
My friend has 3 teaspoons of ghee daily, but still has lost quite a good amount of weight.....reason being her diet is balanced.....
of course anything eaten more then necessary will cause health problems..... thats why balance is important and being active in life is also necessary............
Rice is bad but the way we cook and eat it, with dal, and ghee and sabji and other stuff, not only reduces its bad qualities but improve its good qualities..........same is with sugar, honey and other good stuff like banana and fruits......
These diets which come every 4-5 years are temporary, but the balanced diet that all cultures follow are actually good for the health of not only the citizen but also maintain the ecology of the said region and promote its local community and their work culture......
Isn't it better they lie than promote the unhealthy (and unattainable) diet they follow? I personally feel, it is a good thing that they are saying they eat whatever they want.
I personally don't like ghee, but it is certainly beneficial for you.i know people who have ghee in moderation daily from childhood and you can see in general how they are stronger and have so much more stamina.
Of course they have had other Desi foods and a lot of milk, but they swear by ghee, so that's that.
No idea if it Aids weight loss or not, but when had in moderation it is good for your body for sure.
I have objection on Tara's first answer too. She told that two random girls were sitting beside her on the premier of SOTY2 movie, I mean shouldn't the actors supposed to get VIP seats? Then how come two random girls can sit beside the lead actress just like that?😆😆 It's unbelievable.😛
I think we're missing the point - yes she says she eats butter chicken, biryani etc the question is HOW MUCH is she eating? Most people fill up their plates like the Himalaya Mountains and gobble two plates like that down - ofcourse youre going to gain weight like that.
If you use portion control even with bad stuff, it helps alot. Maybe shes just having a bite here and there?
Do I completely believe her though? No. You cant be THAT fit and say things like you eat any and everything. Its just not possible. Even for skinny people if they eat badly they are usually "skinny-fat"
Raise your hand, if you never believe a word one of these fluffheads speak, specially the very young starlets, who know nothing. When you are very young you have a fast metabolic ratio, it slows down in the 30s and for sure in the 40s. Body mass for ALL bodies (or being skinny/fat) is dependent on two factors: input and output. If you eat a lot and are sedentary you will become jaba the hutt. If you run a 10k every day you will need to eat massive amounts or risk disappearing. Most people find a happy medium and live according to their body type and life style.
EAT and DANCE a lot! people worry not, be real, leave the silly lies and the size 0 for these women, who always end up, getting a nip and tuck from a secret doctor in America, when that" I eat it all diet" does not work.....
Metabolism does play a part in your body weight. I have always had to work harder to stay fit. My sister can eat what she want and not gain a pound. Even though she is 2.5 years older.
Parents say it’s been that way genetically for generations on my father’s side. The second child putting on weight easily.
BUT I refuse to believe Tara doesn’t do anything. She is far too toned. You can be skinny without diet and exercise if you have a fast metabolism. But you can’t even get a flat stomach alone with excercise without dieting. You need to cut down on sugar and carbs.
