It's an insult to Deepika's talent and beauty. Thank you for a good laugh though. 😆 😆

Anyone who disputes Deepika's talent has not seen her body of work since 2012. I became her fan after Cocktail, and every role after that, she worked harder and harder to prove herself. What growth and evolution as an actress, and her journey from Om Shanti Om to Padmaavat proves this. Subtleties and nuances aside, she has worked on her dialogue delivery, diction, and has shown tremendous potential in all her roles. One of her best roles is Tmasha, where she outshines even Ranbir Kapoor.

I have seen Manikarnaka and yes, I feel Deepika could have pulled it off, without the controversies or having to hog the entire screen time. And as for Datto, that character was pitted against Piku and Deepika's Piku won most of the awards that year.

I am not saying she plays only crazy characters. But she has excelled in those crazy characters the most - that's what I am saying, with the exception of Rani - which I mentioned above.

Anyone can pull off Manikarnika. That too without using a Dubbing Artiste like Kangana. Infact, Deepika, Kareena, Priyanka and Anushka Shetty would have been more perfect for this role. They have the dignity n grace in them. And their off screen personality is not repulsive.
