I feel problem with this movie is "budget" ... Movie like this needs ginormous budget like SLB had for Padmavat! .. Otherwise bad VFX takes away from the viewing experience ...Manikarnika's VFX is pretty weak ... It can be seen even in the trailer ... These days audience is so used to watching high-def HW and BW movies that anything less compromises the value of a movie!

Ofc from what I read direction is also an issue .. Be it Kangana or even Krish .. "Paacha and Briahna" both stated the same ...

Personally I feel "lack of budget and direction" are two aspects where the movie falters! ...

Good or bad the audience seemed to love Bahubali. I think it's writer with more developed engaging characters and a beloved heroine would have done better. The Sonu introduction I think would have shown him as powerful and formidable - a worthy opponent. People who say Sonu's character was a rat and didn't deserve screentime (not you necessarily although you may have I can't keep track😆) or it's Manikarnika and she's only important character are really not seeing lost opportunities for drama. Relationships, not action, make for deep drama. Surely this thread and plenty more like it show it's as captivating to hate someone as to love someone. Some of the very best fictional characters are the ones we love to hate. In Manikarnika there was literally nothing (for me) except Kangana (and sorry I will never see past Kangana) and nationalism.

Bahubali was done in 2 parts , you could establish the relationships.

Here the movie plot is about manikarnikas journey and not necessarily abt her relationships.

That's where we differ I guess.i loved that they kept the movie focussed abt her and nationalism than her relationships. You didn't..

There are multiple ways to handle this journey.

Kangana wanted to be part of a commercial version of RLB biopic headlining her. Remember, she was coming out of a disaster Rangoon (with multiple characters plot points 🤔), so she was very clear from the beginning - it has to connect with the mass.

Krish's version which Zee saw would more classify as "1857: The Mutiny" but couldn't be called "Manikarnika" anymore. That's where the issue came. And the reshoot to go back to the original material which was her journey.

Anywho, looks like there is a huge demand for the supporting characters.

May I suggest to reach out to Netflix for the following off shoots:

Sadashiv : The Traitor Of Jhansi (oiled 6-pac body with spiked hair may work here)

Kashibai: Manikarnika's Sista of Jhansi

And if you want them all together like Avengers, then support Krish to remake this movie or perhaps go back to Ketan for crowdfunding.

If absolutely, no time... then revisit the televsion series. 😆

Awww... T4S. So nice to hear that from Waheedaji, who Kangana has referred to as her inspiration before. She was very influenced by her Guru Dutt cinema.

I just watched Sonu Sood's chopped off portion! .. From the looks of it, I am glad it's not there ... If they had retained the part, many would have bashed the movie for copying "Dangal and Sultan" .. This movie is already bashed to be a lookalike of BM ... one more scene would have added to the "copied" list.. 😆 ... whoever took the decision of not utilizing that scene .. 👍🏼

Personally I dislike when makers blindly follow the trend! ... What's the need to have a Dangal scene when his entry could have been anything else, something new (?) to fit the narrative .. just becoz Dangal? .. Same is the case for many TV shows and movies following "Bahubali"-esque style blindly .. just becoz it was ATBB ... 🤪.. If a formula is a success doesn't mean that formula should be used for every movie out there! ... When will Indian makers stop bandwagoning?! ...
