I watched the movie yesterday . Here is my review:-
Story- basically it is story of Lakshmi bai from the time she got married and what ignited the freedom spark in her.

Acting - exceptional from Kangana Ranaut . It is one woman movie . Suresh Oberoi is good in small role. Danny is good too along with actor who played Jhansi Naresh .

Direction - top class

Screenplay - 90 percent good . Bad in parts where faltoo ka Gaana was added like that Ankita Lokhande song and scene before that.

Cinematography- top notch.

Costumes are wonderful , costume designer should win awards as well.

Overall 4 stars from my side . I have cut one star because I felt 2 songs were not needed in the movie . Editing could have been better.

Special mention- Actor who played HUGH rose

4 stars ⭐️

Thanks for sharing your impressions in detail. It makes an interesting reading.
The most consistent praise is for Kangana and it seems to me that she identified herself with the role.
I admire how the film pushed some to get to know more about the historical facts.

I am appalled at the silence from the Bollywood industry. There is a clear deliberate attempt to boycott someone .
Only Madhur Bandarkar , RGV, Asha, Raveena have spoken out.

I mean I wonder if someone else had starred in the movie then there would have been a different kind of publicity for it.

It really makes me want to root for the movie even more and wish for it to make profits.

The thing that works for the movie is the sincerity...
I really felt all the actors made a sincere attempt and that comes across.

Ankita's dialogue when she is caught , something about "Tadap" was so well done.

yes..next week if sonam's ladki even opens at 4cr..it would be celebrated like something record breaking..which also has anil btw

the way these industry kids are pampared and showered with praises really gets to you at times

but but but

audience's approval beats it all..it is all what a star needs..and this is TWMR moment again..smashing records left right centre

industry may not say it openly..but i bet every one of them is talking about it behind closed doors and thinking what to do next to get something like this..

Absolutely

Also this shows that they are a close knit group. They can make and break anyone if this is how it functions there. I can understand if she rubbed some people the wrong way and they not talking about this but this much silence...hmmm

They tweeted for loveyatri for godsake, fair enough but I mean C'mon

Getting 40+ cr ( most likely) weekend for a female centric movie is history ...

Exactly what the hell is wrong with people. Although Shraddha did comment when the trailer came out but everyone else is mum! Its infuriating and makes me want to support a good movie more

Saturday ke collections kahan likhe hain? Yahan toh mil hi nahi rahe mujhe. Anyway, from everyone's comments, it seems it has done 17-18 cr business. And that is good. I dislike Kangana very much and it makes me sad that she will take this as an encouragement to keep acting crazy. But I'm happy that a female solo movie has done this well and even more because it is made on an inspiring personality like Jhansi ki Rani. The movie may have its faults and I'm in two minds to watch it or not but I'm happy that people are showing up to watch the movie. I wish somebody else starred as Rani Lakshmibai so I could root wholeheartedly for it. But I'm happy.
