^^Yes he most definitely did not know she loved another man. I watched the film couple of hours ago, coincidentally. It's only when he realises that she loves someone else, he decides to go against his own family & unite her with Sameer because he cannot possibly, in good faith, see his wife who he loves deeply, waste away pining for another man. It's interesting how everyone is responding to the film because it's less about the film or characters, and more revealing of how they themselves approach love & relationships.

Aish's role was confusing because if you love someone for so long, against all odds..why then, when given chance, you change tack again?

Maybe it was meant to show that love does NOT conquer all. That maybe marriage is more important..and also staying true to promises.

What it's fascinating is that it almost showed Salman-Aish-Abhishek 's triangle. SLB had some great premonition there.😲 (though I am not saying Aish still loves Salman..just the whole 'leaving ardent love and marrying a guy because he loved her').

Hain?😕 Vanraj did not have the slightest clue that Nandini loved someone else.. He asked her repeatedly on their wedding night too when she could not get intimate with him and she did not let him know.. he got her to Europe as soon as he found about Sameer..later it was because thats the time it took tk find the hawa ka jhonka

Ok, maybe it's my mistake, as I haven't seen the movie recently. (regarding the 'Vanraj didn't know')
But wouldn't Vanraj kinda guess she might be loving someone else when she refused him??
And by being intimate I did not mean having sex, just like, living in same house, sleeping , all the stuff a married couple does..like they were alone..no?
Edited to add: so Nadini is in part to blame, as well as her parents..from hiding about Sameer from Vanraj..

No he did not guess.. which is why he was angrh when je first found about Sameer because he had asked Nandini repeatedly to be honest with him
He did not know or understand Nandini's problem.. he did not invade her personal spacd again.. living in the same house was on Nandini since she refused to tell hjm her issue

He probably thought she is shy or something. There was a proper scene when he comes to know and is shocked.

They were leaving with the family, a proper joint one. And it's normal in arranged marriages sometimes (if couples don't meet often before marriage then ) to take time to consummate.

Then, all in all , Nadini's reluctance to talk about why..is weird.. if she loved Sameer.
Also her parents..but why wasn't she honest. Just say: Look Vanraj I married you cause pressure from parents, but I love another guy. Or something like this.
Or maybe is something to do with values and traditions??

@bold: makes sense that way.
@red: This is where I didn't understand, as a Westerner. But now that you explain it this way, I can see the reasoning. Thanks.

😃 Vanraj-Sameer. They were both very sincere in their relationship. Tried their best to cope up with the situation despite the fancy whims of Ms. I am the Queen.

I'd have preferred to see a separation of all 3 leads of around 2 yrs where Nandini could sort out her non-existent relationship problems and have clarity in what she wanted. After that, whatever she'd have chosen, would be fine. The current ending looked to me a compromise for the sake of marriage, although the compromise started with good hope, positives and with a good man, but who knows if she'd ever end up loving Vanraj or not. 😛

^^No, I did too. They had nice subtly intense chemistry in Raincoat too! One of her very very few co-actors Ash had good chemistry with! Salman & her chemistry is damn over-rated, like RK-DP/RS-DP's.
