People need to educate themselves about depression before randomly posting their not so wise also incorrect thoughts...n this has nothing to do with a particular actor or actress ...no wonder one hardly sees psychiatric patients seeking help...the stigma and judgment is real

It is hilarious that IFians cannot grasp simple context.
Depressed is not always equals to depression, as the word is also used by layman to describe stress, and even it did in Sallu Sallu was not talking about his economic or social status. He was talking about himself as an individual does not have luxury of being emotional or sad or depressed, because he feels they always came back to him. Yes we can laugh at him for being a hypocrite as he can do the biggest crime and get away, so why would he ever be depressed. But here bashing Sallu because you apparently took his statement equal to him saying depression is luxury disease as the actual context here is he was talking he as an individual does not have any luxury to be sad or emotinal or depressed.
He is not trivialising depression, he is just talking about his situation, like we say, "I dont have the luxury of being in love", does not mean I am saying love is rich people issue but that me as a person cannot afford to be loved because I am in a situation, where that is not feasible.
I thinking bashing Sallu here for that thing is bashing him for the sake of bashing, instead of him ridiculing depression.

Also I don't think Deepika is talking about Sallu and I doubt that article is even based on recent sentences.
That site deccan whatever is a hilariously bad site btw.

Perhaps the wisest comment in the thread that got ignored. Oh God some interpretation kills me 😆

OK ...I read the article and here is where I stand..
---Deepika's comment was most definitely in reaction to Salman's comment...just because she did not take his name doesn't mean that it wasn't directed towards him...

---Salman when he said that he doesn't have the luxury of being depressed or sick...didn't mean that it was a disease that the rich can have ...its just a way to put things that he is so busy that even if had deprssion he wouldn't have the time to treat it because so much is riding on him...which means other people's time, money and career...when my kids were very young, and I had to take care of them , go to work and take care of our home...I always used to say..that I don't have the luxury of falling sick...it doesn't mean that falling sick is for some special people...it just meant..that Lord don't make me sick..thats all..

----When Deepika directed her comment towards Salman..it was totally fair on her part...to clarify that Depression is not a luxury that only rich can afford...she knew that Salman being a popular star...his statement could be misconstrued by some..I am guessing that she was just clarifying it and not blasting Salman...as Deepika has taken the cudgels to raise awareness about this disease which was shunned by Indians as having any sort of mental illness was considered a taboo...Psychologists and Psychiatrists are still referred to as pagalpan ke doctors by some...so its important for Deepika to remove any sort of confusion that might be created by another celebrities by their statement..

Its a rich people fad to have a shrink and to be "labeled" as something so that they can stand apart from others and have something to discuss at parties.

😳

I happen to know at least one not so rich person who became a victim of depression...So please don't make light of stuff that you know squat about!

Ok I just read the article, Salman is actually only talking about himself! I think media make it big as usual and social media taking advantage of it!
He didn't pin point at anyone but seems like only talking about himself!

I don't know if DP was having depression or not, but she did a good thing by creating a foundation.

The thing is it's true many people do not have the luxury to think about things like depression because they are worried about providing food for their families. In a ways it does kind of become a rich person thing.

DP was not clinically depressed, please read about such topics before posting. She might have faced what some mild depression and that easily cured but not the clinical one because it's what I called chronic.
