Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda, 35, passed away on October 8 after a nearly 12-day fight for life following a severe road accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, on September 27. He had been on life support at Fortis Hospital in Mohali since the accident, suffering from critical head and spinal injuries.

Rajvir suffered serious head and spinal injuries when his motorcycle hit stray cattle that unexpectedly crossed the road. Despite being on life support at Fortis Hospital in Mohali, he passed away from his injuries earlier today.

Rajvir Jawanda suffered a major road accident

Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda was on his way to Shimla when his motorcycle collided with stray cattle near Baddi in Solan district, causing him to lose control and crash into a Bolero. He was first taken to a local hospital, where he suffered a cardiac arrest, and then shifted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali. Upon arrival, a team of neurosurgeons and critical care specialists began treating him immediately.

Despite their efforts, Rajvir's neurological condition remained critical for 11 days, with minimal brain activity and little sign of improvement, until he succumbed to his injuries on October 8.

Prayers poured in for Rajvir

The Punjabi entertainment world was deeply saddened by the news of his declining health. Artists like Diljit Dosanjh, Gippy Grewal, Ammy Virk, Neeru Bajwa, and Kanwar Grewal used social media to offer prayers and support. During a concert in Hong Kong, Diljit even stopped his show to lead the audience in a prayer for Rajvir's recovery, stating, "Dua mein asar hai."

Originally from Punjab, Rajvir Jawanda was a popular figure in the Punjabi music scene, celebrated for his strong vocals and songs that honored Punjabi culture and pride. He gained recognition with hits like 'Tu Disda Painda,' 'Khush Reha Kar,' 'Sardari,' 'Surname,' 'Afreen,' 'Landlord,' 'Down to Earth,' and 'Kangani.'
