Fanney Khan is a content-based film, and Race 3 is a complete masala potboiler, so I don't think it's a clash in the truest terms. Both will have a different audience.

How long will the big male stars continue to occupy the festival dates. Last Eid proved to be a bummer with the disastrous Tubelight. Audience should have options after all.

The other examples don't match.

Race 3 has these has-beens, non-actors. Apart from Salman, there's nothing in it. I don't mind Jacqueline, but this could have been a lot more grander. I'm not sure how you're not seeing it.

Randeep and Nawaz are great actors. They were working with Salman for the first time in Kick. It's not the same as Bobby Deol or Daisy Shah in there. I don't even know who the rest are.

3 Idiots had two great actors, a relevant story, and Raju Hirani. Race 3 will be banking on Salman again. There will be nothing in it apart from Salman. Remo is one lousy director.

As for D3, it's already a huge brand and Abhi/Uday are mainstays of the brand. If Race 3 had retained Saif, with John and/or Akshay in the mix, I wouldn't have minded at all. But they're going for a reboot here and that too - with awful personalities.

As I said during the release of Tubelight, Salman is doing an awesome job self-sabotaging by doing these movies. People prefer to watch a good package these days. Ready had a great ensemble cast with some great actors/personalities. Bodyguard had an A-list actress. Kick had two great actors opposite Salman. Sultan had a great story and another A-lister opposite him. Even PRDP had a great all-round cast.

The only two movies that haven't had any of the above are Jai Ho and Tubelight. And we know enough about both. Both awful movies.

Salman is at the top of the game. He should be working with the best or with stellar casts instead of working with f'kin Remo and whoever is part of Race 3.
