I certainly think they're aiming to make Jai Ho 2 and not Race 3, but a clash with a Salman movie will help Fanney Khan get more footfalls/bump the collections because of added publicity. If FK turns out to be a good movie, it will end up collecting more than it would have otherwise without this clash.

For smaller films, a clash is an opportunity to increase hype and publicity and the initial weekend figures too. BOI wrote an article a while back that clashes these days actually help collections unless of course it's a movie like Golmaal Again, which could have ended up at 230 crores without the clash. But still, it did help boost Secret Superstar's figures.

The major problem is that 2.0's release dates aren't confirmed yet, so come Eid 2017 - we may see a clash between Jai Ho 2 and 2.0, and that - as they say - would be that.

Aish might be popular in other circuits of showbiz but when it comes to box office she has zero pull. Her films needs to have good content and known or popular star cast.

Salman and Jacqueline have delivered a hit like Kick. They're the main lead so I wouldn't underestimate them. I think because Tubelight didn't go as expected, it might have given others the confidence to try to go against Salman on Eid. Let's see what happens with TZH. It looks like it's going to be successful but you never know until it releases. If Fanney Khan is a small movie then maybe they're not even trying to complete with Race 3 but will get the publicity they need by going against it. I think a clash is a bad idea for 2 big movies but it might work with a big movie against a smaller one.
