Alia is indeed ahead of Kriti but that doesn't mean a shrewd player like her would not care about who is snapping at her heels. She wants to be the undisputed queen so will definitely not want anyone to improve and make a place for themselves.

I am not a Kriti fan but Alia does nothing that Kriti and other girls (Niddhi, Rhea Chakraborty, Sonal Chauhan etc) can't do. My take on the whole nepotism debate is that it doesn't matter whether star kids are talented or not. I am not against star kids wanting to act but rather how they're given disproportionate advantages as compared to outsiders and barriers to entry are erected just to keep Bollywood an insiders' bastion.

If Alia is a 'talented' star kid, there will be a thousand girls like her who are equally or more talented but do not get opportunities. That's the problem with nepotism. Alia wants to act, fine. If you make it harder for outsiders to enter, then you're just trying to establish a monopoly.

Alia is easily replaceable for me and does not bring anything unique to the roles she plays.

P.S. Alia has BKD, Udta Punjab, Highway etc precisely because of nepotism. It's because of KJo she has those opportunities. Everybody says star kids only get the first opportunity and have to prove themselves but hell, that 'first opportunity' is everything in Bollywood. If others got it, they would prove themselves worthy of it too.

Shortly after the films release we hear Alia bagging a film opposite SRK which Karan persuaded him to do. Now that Bareilly Ki Barfi is doing well she's eyeing the director as Kriti is enjoying both commercial and critical success. Alia was leaking stories that she had bagged Dilwale and that she was number one choice when Kriti had already signed the film. 😕

Like someone said the moment another actress gets any measure of success , Alia gets cautious. These are her tactics similar to KJO to just approach people once they are successes otherwise she wouldn't bat an eye.

You can accuse her of many things but lack of ambition isn't one of them and that's exactly what you need to make it big here. She has Jhanvi and Sara coming up to beat and take Pop KJOs attention so she wants to have maximum impact now. It's not easy to get the Indian publics attention these days and she has it and will not let it slip.
