Bollywood is buisness.
No 90s actor owes anything to any actress
Most of 90s actresses are rich, why don't they co produce their own movies, if they want to act no need to rely on men of bollywood

What heis saying is nothing wrong in it, it might be patronizing but that is reality. When ADHM showed trailer of Ranbir and Aishwarya in kissing scenes, everybody all the neo conservatives were disgusted calling her Cougar and desperate and Aunty and everything even women themselves. It's the pathetic mentality that has to change till then do not blame Men for this. Women themselves can't see beyond their own basic mindframes

Deviating a little from the topic but there are male actors as well out there who aren't getting the kind of roles they were getting a decade or so ago! Govinda is one of them! The guy at one point was giving one hit after the other but ain't getting the same offers now. So this notion that the market plays no role here is wrong as well! If it didn't then whether a movie is a hit or not wouldn't matter. Actors raise their fee so many times when they are going through their purple patch so how your movie does on a given Friday does dictate to some extent the kind of movies/roles you're getting offered. It shouldn't ideally since an actor's job is to perform darn well and as long as they are doing that, they should ideally get work and perhaps that applies to actors out there who play character roles but when you are the lead then I guess the dynamic does change.
Having said all that, I still do think compared to the men, the women do get fewer roles after they are married or have kids so a concerted effort should be made to rectify that.

Regarding Juhi...if iam not wrong he said in big boss when she came for some movie promotions ... ..salman was pulling her leg and both were having fun ...he said it in a jest if u watch that video .

.edit :but then again as u pointed out both r same ..this is what srk uncle is saying older heroines like juhi are not accepted by public ..audience want to see younger ones..and the same salman said to juhi in a lighter mode

Don't know why u r not able to see the similarity of their statements...Kher !!

i did nt feel like addressing u directly..i have observed it is nt ur nature
to discuss pov amicably ..so why agitate ur mind further n ruffle the
uncharming side of urs for any actor?i am nt so stupid to think any actor
as "my" naah i better have truth as my friend than any actors/actress..
so kindly do refrain from telling me "my king" 😆 as neither he is king to me
neither he is mines to defend or even cherish..
what i merely stated was a reply to tm that he is at least telling politely
the bitter truth n nt telling his co-star to play his mother.when ur 51 n ur telling
ur age ppl to play ur mother i feel that is more insulting n ageist than whatever
way srk has told the same truth in a palatable manner..that was my only ref
n conclusion from the two statements of same nature n matter by srk n salman.
yes i know they sound same..bt if i tell u on ur face ur snake like revengeful
n if i tell u ur hostile in nature do they nt sound same bt vary in their degree of
presentation in terms of politeness?same way i found both srk salman are telling
the truth bt one is being intelligently polite n the other is being dumbly insulting.
hope u now understand my pov better..

The 90s actresses are not willing to do movies as per their age factor. Madhuri in aja nachle, gulab gang and dedh ishqiya was disappointing. Plus as an actor she is not that great. She was a great dancer. Aishwarya too is not that talented as an actor. I found her annoying in sarabjit.
The only talented actress I feel is sridevi, her comeback in englishvinglish was phenomenal. Even in the 90s she did many female centric movies like gumrah, chandni, lamhe, etc. I am looking forward to her next movie mom.

audience is ageist only when it comes to women...otherwise it will lap up any shit by the 50 year old khans and kumars...so audience is sexist too...but it is changing...was not english vinglish a success? What a nice movie...feel like watching it again...
As a viewer I want more good movies like english vinglish starring fabulous actresses like sri devi...why isn't she doing more movies?are the 90s actresses interested much?is the sexism of the industry and audience so discouraging that they don't try much?

Sorry to meddle in, but one can be insulting while being polite at the same time. These two things are not mutually exclusive. What matters is the intent behind what is said. This intent can be camouflaged behind flowery language but the meaning that is conveyed will be exactly the same. It doesn't make the comment any less insulting.😆 Now it is a personal preference if you prefer polite/diplomatic insults or hostile in your face insults. To me, both are the same, one is not better than the other and both comments have an ageist tone. :P

Ageism and sexism. That is why 90s heroines are not getting any work nowadays. SRK profits from this, just like all the other male actors. & we all are guilty of this to a certain degree: anytime we call actresses old or fat or unsexy or ugly.
Bwood & Co need to change fast or Hwood will start gaining power here. I hope not, because the indian movie industry is actually one of the few to resist the invasion as i call it. I hope it stays that way, but the industry need to fix some issues asap

sorry to argue on that one is bitter truth ..it is a truth even i wnt like
to pay n see botoxed face essaying youthful roles..i would very much
mind if dharmendar n hema malini ji now dances around tree..or if
rekha ji n ab sr now does a rain dance..i will find it embarrassing..i would
rather welcome jaya ji doing aa aaa aaa aaa with puja ki thali in her hand
instead of latka jhatkas 😆 so every age does have its image to follow n live up to..
the older ones should know when to retire gracefully n nt act young any more..
so here srk is telling in general why older women are nt taken in n there ur telling
a person of round abt ur own age to play ur mother as u feel ur still
"in demand n young " though ur already 51..n as much aged ..so this one is nt
only more ageist n insulting bt also shows off how he thinks he is ever virginally
young..surely u will nt walk up to ur friend n say hi u have aged badly now
ur fit to play my mother only..the difference lies here..so what srk is telling is the
biter truth..what salman is telling is truth also bt he is behaving like he did nt age at all
n only ppl near his age has aged..n are now fit to play his mother which exposes him
as typically more ageist..or perhaps arrogant would be right word..

lastly i know why i did nt like dilwale..
coz they have aged badly..n its embarrassing to see them
on boat outstretching their hands n trying to act young like
they were in kkhh..vfx does nt hide age..😆

You don't have to apologise, I don't mind arguments as long as ppl remain civil.😛

Bitter truths generally tend to be insulting in nature, notwithstanding that the statement does hold some basis in reality. You can insult someone while still telling the truth.

I don't find any difference in SK's statements and SRK romancing actresses heroines more than two decades younger than him. 50+ actors playing roles of young heroes itself is a demonstration of ageism, how is that any different to what SK said? Is this not a display of his opinion of himself which is the same as what you said for SK. Only diff is that SK has said this out in the open & SRK tends to be more polite & courteous in his manner. Yes, you can call SK arrogant for his behaviour but I will call both ageist. The only time they will stop being ageist for me is if they attempt playing more age appropriate roles or star opp heroines in their age group.

I will give credit to all the Khans here because recently they have all attempted to play more age appropriate roles. Just not with the older heroines. :P Except Dilwale (but that doesn't count because Kajol was casted to cash in on DDLJ hype and not for any other reasons).
