Bitter truths generally tend to be insulting in nature, notwithstanding that the statement does hold some basis in reality. You can insult someone while still telling the truth.


I don't find any difference in SK's statements and SRK romancing actresses heroines more than two decades younger than him. 50+ actors playing roles of young heroes itself is a demonstration of ageism, how is that any different to what SK said? Is this not a display of his opinion of himself which is the same as what you said for SK. Only diff is that SK has said this out in the open & SRK tends to be more polite & courteous in his manner. Yes, you can call SK arrogance for his behaviour but I will call both ageist. The only time they will stop being ageist for me is if they attempt playing more age appropriate roles or star opp heroines in their age group.


I will give credit to all the Khans here because recently they have all attempted to play more age appropriate roles. Just not with the older heroines. :P Except Dilwale (but that doesn't count because Kajol was casted to cash in on DDLJ hype and not for any other reasons).

i dnt remember a movie where srk has played old ..veerzara ya he tried..
bt it was nt coming like his age..its bit funny actually..
n i do feel srk should retire as a lover boy he has aged too much..its bt embarrassing to
watch him try so hard even now..probably this is why many are disapointed
n finds him boring n repetitive..i too cnt help yawning ..specially dilwale was
making me irritated ..may be i have the image of kkhh n was staring at hardlines
with age written all over their face..
SK has nt played his age bt he did nt play typical lover boy so he has really
progressed ..amir did dangal n really played his own age n the result is good too..
still his acting is kind of superficial..i cnt connect with him ..

there is a saying that truth has a place timing n medium..
for the case of srk he was asked directly he replied intelligently
n stated the obvious truth..it is true we dnt like seeing aged ppl ..
n like i said before there no one asked salman directy..juhi expressed
her desire to work with him n prompt came the reply that ya as his mother
only..this is what i found very unpolished n raw arrogance..
bt what ur telling is true too that both srk salman are ageist..in fact i am as much
ageist as them when i refuse to pay to watch older ppl romance..
so ya we are all speaking the bitter truth bt in refined or unrefined manner..
lot of ppl will tell this should nt happen that should happen ..
bt those are all based on ideology..n life is being practical ..
ideology sounds charming with if n buts haves n have nots should n shoud nt

SK has only played characters his age recently. Please give credit where its due. 😆 In Sultan he played a middle aged man, in Bajrangi Bhaijaan he played a 40+ character (his character's age was clarified in the film to be 40+ through the timeline), and in PRDP he also played the character of an older prince. None of these are young heroes. His only issue is working with women around his age bracket and this maybe his arrogance or his own version of bitter truth because he knows audience will not like this. So yep, he is also telling the bitter truth but in a hostile & rude manner but both SK and SRK's statements are disrespectful to me.😆


Khans are superstars so they have a lot of power to at least get the ball rolling ONLY if they wanted. Films with older heroines also work, biggest example is English Vinglish. In Khan films, how much does the role of the actress matter anyway? These days audience are getting cautious and good scripts are getting more praise & recognition from the audience. This explains why Aamir Khan's films are doing the best. So the audience may not be as unwelcoming to seeing older heroines as you are saying. How can you know something won't work if you don't try it?😛


It is not about being practical vs. idealistic. It is about taking your work seriously and having pride in it rather than only thinking about ways in which you can earn more money. If you do this, MONEY will automatically come your way. And this is not my idealism. It is a tried and tested theory, biggest example is Aamir Khan.😆 Even SK gives more importance to scripts nowadays. I am just saying that maybe if they cast older heroines then they can increase the value of their films since the older heroines generally tend to be better actresses rather than glam dolls (which most actresses are, nowadays). I think these days the audience are generally more tough to please and do appreciate good scripts & acting and may just give a chance to older actresses for this reason rather than watch younger actresses romancing middle aged men.

when they fail to logically defend..while some never uses such

last two years sk did bb n sultan apart from this two
others did nt portray his real age..that is of 51 nor did any other
khans..so age appropriate role no one did..unless 40 is the new 50s 😆

40s' is age appropriate enough for me, I did not mean to that they should start playing 50 year olds all of a sudden. It will look jarring. A smooth transition is better.
