May be she would not get so many offers if not for Karan but she sure is hella talented and would make it to the top after a few years by herself.

You are right on the money.Imtiaz,Gauri would have never offered her after SOTY.Bhatt's films neither make noise on the boxoffice nor they get critical acclaim.If signing films would be let to solely her it would be tough for her to get plum projects.

When SOTY released, none of us(atleast in my family) could understand why KJo even chose her... she was too below average that time. But she has changed a lot, since then.

I don't think she'd have made it without KJo launching her.. however, I think after SOTY, she just grabbed and made good use of the opportunities, it seems and it shows, like everyone's saying.. I didn't watch any film of hers after SOTY...watched HSKD here and there, she was good.. but other than that, IDK much about her acting talent.

Alia is talented and really good actress. There is no doubt in that.

BUT would she had made it without kJO or if she was not MB daughter? Not really! There are so many beautiful talented girls who don't even get a chance. Bollywood is highly driven by starkids now. Alia is really good but many outsiders don't get chance because Bolly is after industry kids.

We will never know - shall we. One right script, one right director,meet someone who is right contact person at right time and fans love the movie. It has happened before.
It would have been difficult for her to climb success stairs so soon without KJO. That is for sure. He has been guiding her quite well so far. And she has talent. There is no doubt about it.
