Do you think Alia would have made the cut in bollywood without Karan's

It's tough to say. Perhaps her father would have launched her with a home production, but being launched by Dharma was about as good as it could get. Maybe her choice of films wouldn't be the same though, and she would have made the mistakes that most other newcomers are making.

Karan has been an influential figure in Alia's career.He has gone to the extreme level to promote her viz KWK and films.7 out of 8 films are of Dharma Productions and for one film he recommend her to Imtiaz.It occurs to me that she doesn't even read the script.Karan handpicks them for her.She has worked with some raw talented,critically acclaimed filmmaker.They have not approached her for those roles.Karan had a hand in it.There comes a tough time when your script choice goes wrong but Alia doesn't need to worry.

If she was not a star kid, I don't think she would have made the cut. Standards for non-industry aspirants are inordinately high. For actresses, the industry prefers conventionally very attractive, tall, light skinned girls. Acting talent comes next. Basically, you have to be the package.

This is not a comment on her talent, 'cause someone can be really talented but not 'make the cut' because they weren't friends with the right people or weren't at the right place. You don't always get what you deserve in BW.

I think without karan's backing and lobbying she wouldn't have got the chance to work with great directors like Imtiaz and Gauri Shinde nor could she had made such an improvement in her craft.
It's definitely a big hand of Kjo that she has made a mark now.

Without Karan, she wouldn't have even gotten a second film after SOTY, unless Bhatt banner made something for her. Imtiaz, Gauri would have never offered her Highway/DZ without Karan's lobbying or money. The rest are anyways all Dharma movies. He has a huge hand in her growth as an actor and it would be silly to deny that.
