anushka came as an outsider, and she is rocking.
if coming from outside is not easy, then being spoon fed, promoted, and then delivering is also not easy. imagine the pressure you have. you are already given opportunities, which others are not getting, so you better score. if you deliver, then hell you will be lauded.

kudos to alia! highway, 2 states, UP, kapoor and sons, dear zindagi. what amazes me even in small roles like in k&s, she shines. I wonder when she will be given some credit.
kjo promoting her is getting boring now.

alia delivers big time in less than 10 movies. you gotta have it, if you don't , just leave. 😆
she simply infuses life in her roles/characters.

Actors like Rajeev khandelwal who are full of talent are struggling in the industry because they are not star kids or have anyone's backing.

Alia is talented,no doubt about that.I loved her in 2 states but without kjo,she would have still struggled a lot in the industry.

Today,bollywood doesn't see talent anymore. If it had,all the katrinas and shraddhas would have disappeared long back.

Today in order to become successful in bollywood, one needs to have strong connections,whether they are talented or not.

Rajeev khandelwal is a perfect example of a flop talented bollywood actor without anyone's backing.

Coming to Alia,I think she should now refuse to work with KJo atleast for the next few years in order to prove that she can be successful without his favors.

Kjo's favors are overshadowing her talent.

she'd hv to struggle wid flowerpot roles like athiya n chick flicks a la sonam becos i doubt ppl wud handover good scripts to mahesh bhatt for his baby

In terms of commercial cinema she is a good actress and also choosing substance role not some flowerpot kind of role a but still not some exceptional actress where I can say that she owns the character. But let's not forget that maximum of her movies are belongs to Dharma production aka KJo's so no doubt that karan has a big role in her career progress where he gives her right opportunity and exposure. We all know how karan johar's movies are-high production value, A list star cast , chart busting music, good-looking faces and best style. As much as audience mock this guy but they love to see his movies which have the balance of right amount of glamour and content. I doubt alia would've reach in this position if she have launched and backed by her own father. Even the not so commercial movie of Dharma Production DZ is also doing good in box-office. Secondly Alia stand out in current lot of actress. She has a baby face but got a glamour appeal, outspoken and quite pampered by her male counterparts.

Bottom line is she has got perfect appeal to be a future star.

Being Bhatt daughter, Papa might have made movies for her. But we all know what Bhatts make. So, those movies definitely can't give her the exposure Kjo is giving. He is choosing her projects, He lobbies for her. Gauri was supposed to cast someone else & Kjo got DZ for Aloo.

To answer you TM, without Karan, Aloo wouldn't have made it this far. Neither would have been half as popular & critics favorite. She is good but not the best out there. Critics over-praise her.

Yami has to do SanamRes,Junooniyaats and a few cameos and Illeana too has been struggling...not saying that they would have surely make it to the top if they would have got similar support but who knws...if Alia signs films on her own without KJo's support then who knws which movies she would b doing...

Ranbir,DP and Imran were launched around the same time with much fanfare...the latter is non relevant today and he is not a good actor...Ranbir too has BV's,Roy's,Besharam's...he might have signed Besharam as the director was of Dabangg fame.Imran had a good 2011-12 but wht happened post that a string of flops and he is non relevant...take DP's career for instance...she had done movies like Chandni Chowk to China and many more...why did she sign those movies?maybe she did CCC bcoz of Akki who himself was having a good run at the BO at that time...
