Deepika looked beautiful but I think some other beautiful actresses cud have done the role better. The fact that someone made this topic shows DP didn't nail mastani ...ppl cudnt connect with the character

I can't imagine anyone other than Deepika as Mastani.
She nailed it in the scene where she fights with the sword to protect her child and in the last scene. Those scenes were perfect.
I can't imagine any other actress who would have done those scene with emotion and grace at the same time.

Unfortunately, we do not have many actresses today who could play such a role. Earlier we had Madhuri and Tabu and before that there were actresses like Meena Kumari and Madhubala who would match such characters perfectly.
