the reason someone commits suicide is because they can't take it anymore, somehow the pain is too much, its unbearable so they decide to end it thinking it'll end the suffering but will it end? what if the hindus are rite? In hinduism or yogic system, your body dies but the karmic impressions don't and the tendencies remain instead of getting rid of old stock u add more and when u commit suicide u r in a very bad mental state and therefore that mental state will create your own hell/heaven depending on your state and your tendencies from there on u don't have a conscious mind to stop those tendencies it'll just unfold and u won't be able to do a thing about it. its like creating your own hell so if u think what u r suffering rite now is bad and by killing yourself (the body) u r gonna get rid of your pain then u r wrong.

the only way is to clear the karmic conditioning and seek mukti - moksha.

but people are not interested in all this, they want relief not cure. The moment they're uncomfortable, they wanna get rid of that feeling like its gonna kill them, just feel them and accept them. There is a way out, there always is.

if the guy is depressed then a 3hr movie isn't gonna do much. What happens after the movie ends? u r back to your old self, nothing changes or u r gonna keep watching kabali for the rest of your life?

the story can also be that if I can't even get a movie ticket, if even that doesn't happen then what else (good) will happen? its useless better end it?

anyways people are born then die then are born again, the wheel of samsara continues.

It's not that Kabali is in the theatres only on Friday that people are killing themselves if they don't get tickets for friday.

It's silly to kill oneself because one didn't get ticket on the first day of the release.

it is silly to think anyone will kill themselves over one ticket.. usually it is a long battle with depression... kabali ticket turned out to be the trigger that day... he must have tried so hard to live until that day.. he is no coward nor idiot nor loser.. he must have loved his family a lot...it is just depression got to him.

I just want to laugh reading this!!! People are so ridiculous! I understand how bad depression can be and how low one has to be to finally take their lives- (the latter one can only understand if one has walked in those shoes), but to do so for not acquiring a ticket for a movie you could go and watch the next day, or online? Come on!! get serious! Now his parents have to suffer!!

this.

the least people with a conscious mind can do is not label anyone who commits suicide as coward or loser... fear of judgment is also a reason why such people hesitate to express their problems or their pain.. this world needs more empathy and less name-calling.

I've battled depression myself and I say it proudly.I managed to get out of it but everyone doesnt which is why there needs to be more awareness.I can perfectly understand how difficult it is to think rationally in such situations but I dont believe not getting a movie ticket is the ONLY reason. It can be one of the many million reasons that triggered this. Not justified at all but the truth is its happening way too often these days. I respect and admire celebrities who have started talking about depression openly,Deepika for instance.Be nice.Talk to people.A listening ear can save a life.Since people get inspired by bollywood, why not make more movies on this? There needs to be more awareness.

psychiatrist also don't do much other than prescribe SSRI which are useless for most people as its a placebo for the most part. In some cases and for sometime it might work but its not really a cure.

the person must be willing to get better, if he has a support system even better. Most people's diets are also really bad. if u eat rite, exercise, sleep on time then your physiology will change even your thought process and your state of mind will change and if you're conscious of your thoughts and not believe every thought that goes through your mind then even better.

The last thing would be doing yoga and releasing old traumas. Therapy can help too depending on therapist.

I think that about covers it. I've been suicidal myself not once but quite a few times. They prescribed me SSRI which I refused to take as according to my research they don't do much. I've to do my own research on everything. I just can't believe the doc or anyone else for that matter.

a different take on it

and there is juhi chawla too. haila juhi chawla with sadhguru 😆

For every depression story I can give you 40 stories of terminally ill people who would love to live just one more day, or what they wouldnt do to be healthy again, for that one eye, or one working kidney, or a beating heart, or a healthy bone marrow, or tumor free body. I could go on and on and on. I could also tell you how many people would love to make a better future and move to Malaysia for example if given a chance. I could tell you anything but it doesnt matter.

Like i said the only people suffering are the parents. He went the easy way, but he has given them a life time of hurt. No parent should have to bury their kids.

And for the record yes I have battled depression. I have faced a lot of shit fest in my life. Also taken medication and what I needed to take. Heard it all, done it all.

one's suffering is not greater than the other (psychologically speaking) the person facing depression isn't in that mental state to make wise decisions. from outside u are like look at all those other people, look at people who have less than you, be grateful, live for your parents, think of them, etc etc but it doesn't matter.

his mind isn't in that state and something needs to be done to get him out of it before its too late. Its useless judging him or blaming him. what's required is to understand and provide solutions.

u think his suffering is done but that might not be so

there are different stages of depression. People feel not so good for like a month or so and they think they're really depressed better take some meds (my guess is deepika falls in this category) but it can get really severe, really bad and a time will come when u r not able to get out of it no matter what u do.

but its also nature. the world is already over populated. if we don't control ourselves then nature is gonna do it for us and wipe us out. life expectancy is getting better and better so people are living longer but we're still producing more and more. We're 7.3b, that's already too much. by 2050 we will be 9b, imagine that

we can't provide for all at the same level. some are gonna be well provided for while most will suffer.

Well said. Although you can give credit to timely counselling, understanding of friends and family, the right medicines but the only reason you were able to come out of it is because you wanted to. Until and unless you understand that only you have the ability to pull yourself out and be the change nothing else will help. In life you must always adapt, improvise and overcome. Nobody else is going to do it for you.
